Stealing things off of strollers?

This is our first trip with kids to WDW. We will be taking two Maclaren's for my daughters. I am planning on having a backpack stashed under one of them with extra's- dipes, sunscreen, water. I will take everything of value with us on the rides. Has anyone had any trouble with people stealing things that were left on the stroller? I just don't want to have to lug a backpack onto the rides with us. We were thinking of running a bike lock through the frames of the two strollers to lock them together (but leaving the wheels so they could be pushed) and I suppose we could attach the backpack to it. I hate having to be paranoid about things like this, just wanted to know if this sort of thing has been a problem for anyone?

We just got back from a trip with DD2 and DS 6 months. We took our two Maclarens. We always left our diaper bags in the strollers, and nothing was ever bothered. I kept a small travel purse with me that had my room key, license, and camera in it. We didn't want to lug the bags on to rides, either, and it worked out fine for us. Hope you have a great trip! :wizard:

I have never had any trouble. I also kept a small purse, where I kept our keys, camera, etc. that I brought on the rides. I always had the diaper bag hanging and stuff in the stroller. That said, I always made sure to cover up any special things - ie: stuffed mickeys, light up wands, etc. Not so much worried about the parents, but another little little person who doesn't really know better who thinks - this is neat! And then the parents don't realize it to late. I was just smart, and never had any trouble!

We have never had a problem with stuff being taken till our last trip in Dec. We were at Studios and rode the Great Movie Ride. We came out and was going to get Prince Caspian's autograph. Somebody apparently took her autograph book from the basket of our stroller. We needed only the one autograph to complete the book. It had her name and address in it, but it still hasn't come home. I am mad at whom ever took it as it had DD's princess breakfast autographs and her first tink meet and greet....

So on that note do think about what you leave in the stroller. This was DD's 12th trip and the first time anything like this has happened!

We only ever leave stuff it wouldn't kill us to lose in our stroller. Last trip, I took a backpack (finally didn't have a diaper bag that needed to be carted around) with our necessities in it. I left it on our umbrella stroller when I went on rides. At one point, DH said, "Aren't you worried that someone might steal your backpack (which was new)?" I said, "Our stroller is parked next to one that's worth $200. Which do you think is more likely to get stolen... my $30 backpack or the $200 stroller?"

I concur with others about not leaving anything in the stroller that would be of great value. We had no problems either on our last trip. I did, however, use a see thru bag (el cheapo from the target $1 spot) to hold diapers, wipes and such. I figured if people could see what their big prize would be:goodvibes in the bag they were about to steal, this would deter them!

I also decorated the stroller with some tags, ect. to help prevent stroller mixups. I guess it all worked out because nothing was stolen.

Like a pp, I used a see through bag to leave in the stroller.

I use a Skip Hop Pronto diaper/wipes holder and hang it off the side of our Maclaren quest. That way, when we need to fold the stroller, it's not in the way. We rarely if ever use the basket. I also use the Maclaren stroller organzier for waters, ponchos, etc.... which can also be left on the stroller when folded. Eliminates the need for another totebag. It's also easier getting thru security. The only bags we have is our small cooler bag and my personal small purse.

I also agree, do not leave anything "Disney" exposed on the stroller. Any toys, sippy cups, etc.... Not that it could get stolen, but another child might take it not intending to steal it. You never know what a two year old will grab while Mommy's trying to prep the stroller. :rotfl2:

My sister accidentally left her wallet hanging from the stroller while we rode KS! It was still there when we got back.

I wouldn't worry too much about it but I wouldn't leave anything exposed that a small child might decide they want. Little kids tend to grab at things on other ppl's strollers and some parents don't pay any attention to what the kids are doing.

I accidently left my RayBan sunglasses in the cup holder of our stroller for over 45 minutes. No one touched them. Gotta love Disney!

My kids are way past the stroller years but when we did use them we never had any porblems. Take your camera etc with you but I would not worry too much about the diaper bags. One thing that I always did was tie a bright red scarf around the handle so that it was more easily identified. Have Fun

DH's cousin had left pictures of her family on rides (like Everest) on the stroller and someone came by and took them. Why anyone would want another families pictures is beyond me :confused3. But some people do take things from other peoples strollers.

That is a good idea to use a see through bag. I know Jansport makes see through ones that I think are even a plastic material that would stay dry in a rain storm.

We had a little headband with light up hot pink mickey ear bobbles taken once. Oh, and I saw 2 squirrels stealing cheezits from the back of a stroller parked outside the Living Seas! :rotfl2:

For the most part we took whatever we didn't want to take a chance with with us, but also had a lock for our backpack (to lock the zippers together so it wouldn't open) and a lock to attach the back pack to the stroller so no one could just grab it and keep walking. We left the stroller (a sit n stand) several times without locking it and the backpack and everything was fine.

As we were parking our stroller to ride Buzz Lightyear, we stood there watching the birds land on stroller handles, take a look around, hop to the next stroller, look around, and then hop down and take french fries off of the stroller tray.

Speaking of squirrels, I ran over one's tail with our stroller. I was pushing stopped to try to read a map, my husband started laughing and people were stopping and I finally looked and I had stopped right on top on one's tail. He was dead still posed as if he was waiting for the starting gun. I pulled the stroller back and zoom off he went. :rotfl2:

we never had a problem when we went in march. DW left her freakin PURSE on the stroller. No drama, though.
