This may be a silly question, but I would rather look silly here than at the restaurant :) do the steaks come with sides or is it a la carte? I am taking my boyfriend there for his birthday and was curious. The menu online looked like it. Also, should we dress a little nicer? Thanks in advance for the replies. We don't dine at places like that very often.

They are a la carte. The steaks are delicious and so are the sides, but it is a bit expensive.

As far how you should dress, we have only eaten there twice. Once we were dressed nicer and once in shorts and t-shirts. We didn't feel out of place either way. Because of how close it is to the parks, there are a lot of people in very casual attire. But because it is a nicer restaurant there are alos a lot of people dressed up.

Personally, I say go in what ever you fell comfortable going in (obviously don't wear something completely inappropriate, like something that shows stuff that shouldn't be shown in public, etc.) and don't worry about what others think, it's really none of their business.

Thanks for replying and good to know! I am really looking forward to taking him. He loves steak. Glad I saved some $$& for this trip!

If he's a steal lover, he can not go wrong with the signature rib eye. It was one of the greatest steaks I have ever eaten.

We enjoyed eating there last summer...like the last reply, dress in whatever you feel is comfortable. We saw both as well some dressed nicely, others casual. We also wore shorts/t shirts and were among alot of others.

It is expensive, all items are a la carte. With that being said, the service was slow, took us 2 hours to complete our meal but the Ribeye was delicious! The Au grautin potatoes are AMAZING!! You can always order 2 different sides and share, that is what we did.

Have a great time:)

They also have a pre fixe menu. So, for $40 you get a salad, steak (that comes with vegetables and the au gratin potatoes), and desert (creme brulee).

The steak is a hangar steak, a less expensive cut, but when it's cooked right (med. rare) it's delicious.

We ate there last Saturday. It was yummy.

never ate at 55... but we made reservations for Christmas time! looking forward to it! :thumbsup2

Do you think it would be really terrible if cooked well done? I can't do anything less than well done, and am debating between prix-fixe and one of the a la carte steaks.

Also, any dessert recommendations? :goodvibes

We had the filet mignon this past summer. It was incredible. We also had the garlic mashed potatoes for a side. The bread is also amazing. We did feel like we were under dressed but no one said anything. I wore jeans and a polo. You will have a great steak experience.

This thread is making my mouth water. We have reservations during our December trip and I am sooo looking forward to it.

hangar steak is not very good well done. (it would be too chewy) I would pick a different steak if you need it well done.

I like creme brulee for desert

Ew! Thanks for the tip. I'll go for a filet perhaps.

For best flavor steak of any type should never be cooked past medium.

I prefer Medium Rare when I go to a steak house that knows how to properly cook steaks, otherwise, I will usually go with Medium unless I know the restaurant overcooks the steaks as some make it really rare.
