Monday - Hotel Cheyenne check-in.

We got the RER direct from Les Halles to Marne le Vallee which was really easy. The hardest part was getting our luggage along Rue Rambueto to Les Halles Metro Station, but it didn't stop me calling into FNAC in Les Halles to buy some DVDs :)

We walked from the RER station through the Disney Village to the hotel. When we first turned the corner onto the Hotel Cheyenne main street we all started to grin, the place was deserted and the atmosphere was great. Very impressive.

First impressions of Hotel Cheyenne were very good.

We arrived at Hotel Cheyenne at around 14.00 and the lobby was VERY busy. The check-in queue snaked around the roped area and towards the gift shop / general store. It took me almost one hour to get sorted but we managed to get the room key when we eventually checked in. I expected the room not to be ready and to have to leave our luggage until we got back from the park.

The room was in block 21 - Jesse James - Room 2166 (upstairs). Virtually dead centre of the complex! One window looked out onto the play corral, the other onto the Chuck Wagon Cafe / Yellow Rose Dance Hall outdoor seating area(s). We had no idea how noisy it would get (and how late it would go on)!

After we dumped our luggage in our room it was finally time to go to the parks!

By the time we reached the Disney Village we all realised just how hungry we were so we nipped into Annette's Diner for a late lunch / early dinner.

Me: Mega Burger
Michele: Burrito Wraps
Katie & Jake: Menu Enfant (pasta) and jelly with cream & ice cream
Drinks: x4 50cl glasses of Coke (plus drinks with kids meals)
Total: 73.20 EURO

We left Annette's at 16.43 so when we finally made in into DLP we collected our magic hours wrist bands :)

The last photo of the day as my camera battery decided to die!

When we got to the top of Main Street Jake began to squeal with delight "We at Disneyland!"

The first ride we went on was Buzz Lightyear Laser Blast (Jake loved this last year), there was a 30 minute wait (FP was 20 minutes so we decided to join the regular queue). While in the queue a fight among some lads broke out. Nice...

After Buzz we went on It's a Small World, which was a walk on. Katie (who is five) commented on it being a 'baby ride'. I guess it's due to us being there last year and doing it all 'to death' then. Odd, I still enjoyed it :)

Next it's off to the Pinocchio ride, which was a walk on. it was closed when we were there last year. We all liked this one (Pinocchio is my favourite 'classic' Disney movie), Michele and I had been on it years ago when we visited :)

Then we go on Peter Pan, there was a 10 minute wait. We never grow tired of this one! To me, it's a perfect ride. However, I was more than a little annoyed to notice the waiting area is still covered in graffiti. Personally, I would have expected it to be sorted out for the 15th anniversary celebrations.

Two goes on Pirates of the Caribbean - both walk on - and two goes on Big Thunder Mountain - both 10 minute waits - later we all decide to call it a day. But on the way out of the park we decide to pop over to Discoveryland via Fantasyland (and an unscheduled ride on Dumbo the Flying Elephant - there was a 10 minutes wait) for a go on Star Tours, which was a walk on. Katie likes this one a lot (possibly due to me being a big Star Wars fan, there is a lot of Star Wars stuff around at home).

By now it's 21.50 so we decide to have a slow walk back to the hotel. Exhausted. I carry Katie and Jake sleeps in his pram.

Back at the room the outdoor seating area by the Chuck Wagon is full and very noisy. Kids play in the Corral and the Wagons until well after midnight. And I felt bad about having our kids out so late...

We sleep with the windows closed (due to the noise) and the ceiling fan on all night. But it is very hot. We decide on a late start in the morning and a more relaxed trip to the studios in the morning.

Attractions we managed to do on day 1:

Buzz Lightyear
It's a Small World
Pinocchio
Peter Pan
Pirates of the Caribbean (x2)
Big Thunder Mountain (x2)
Dumbo the Flying Elephant
Star Tours

Not a bad start IMO...

I agree, definitely not a bad start ;) you didn't get into the park until late afternoon! :goodvibes

Looking forward to the next day.

Excellent first park day. Hope the room location did not intrude to much :)
