Can anyone who experience going on a non-disney cruise after staying @ wdw help me out.

We plan on room only for a couple of days and then heading out on CARNIVAL cruise. Besides a rental car, what is the easiest and most economical method to get from wdw to the port - and back again.

here's my intinerary.

jan 13 - (fly into Orlando)
jan 13-15 - (room only wdw)
jan 16-24 - (Carnival cruise)
jan 24 - (room only)
jan 25 - (fly home)

Because out flight options are limited the day we get back into Orlando from the cruise, we are forced to stay an additional night before we head home. We want to stay in wdw again and so are looking for a return shuttle from wdw to port caneveral.

I thought about getting ME back to the airport on jan 16th to get the shuttle there (and return back to the airport on the 24th), but this seems to be the most hastle and time waster.

any ideas ?

So does Carnival have their own shuttle from/to the airport?

How many people are in your party?

We had a Royal cruise after a Universal stay, and we rented a car and driver round trip; we used fltours.com. I think they are a Dis sponsor so go to wdwinfo.com to click through to them to get a deal.

yes, carnival has a shuttle from MCO, $70 each return.

Only 2 in my party, so I don't know how economical it would be for a car service

of, so it may be cost prohibitive to get a shuttle to take us from wdw before and after the cruise. Can anyone suggest an inexpensive rental company that has offices at the port so I can look into a 1 way rental. Thanks

apparently not many economical solutions, so I've decided to take ME back to MCO and the Carnival shuttle to port. not the best use of time, but given the cost or hastle of the alternatives this is what we've decided. I'll post here again when I get home to let you know my experience.

We just did this last September and we ended up renting a car...and would do it again in a heartbeat! :thumbsup2
We took ME to resort, spent some time at WDW and checked out early on Saturday morning. We took ME back to MCO and picked up our Budget rental. They have special cruise rates from the airport and we paid $17 (total of $27 with fees) for car to the port. We chose rental because of cost and because the shuttles do not get you to port before 1 pm and we wanted to be on the ship early. Even with tolls, it was cheaper and more convenient. It took us less than an hour to drive to port and we stopped for some supplies on the way. The Budget office is very near port and we were on the first (free) shuttle to port after dropping off rental. We were to port and on ship by 11:30am.
We rented a car for return even though it was more ($70)...our flight didn't leave until late and that gave us a car for the day. We spent it at DTD instead of having to spend the day at the airport. The whole process was really easy and we would definitely do it again. :goodvibes
