A total of 7 (4 adults, 3 kids) of us are going to WDW next January. We are OKW owners and have only stayed at OKW. I want to go outside of my comfort zone and try something else. I have this question before and have always came back to OKW. This time, I really am trying somewhere else. All resorts are available except BLT. I need a dedicated two bedroom. I have narrowed my choices down to AKV-Kidani (Savannah view) and Beach Club Villas. I ruled out VWL and Boardwalk but am open to listening. I have never been fond of SSR. Whatever guidance you can provide to me will be appreciated.

other resorts are not as large as OKW!! If your like us that will be the first thing you moan and groan about. That said, you should definitely try ALL of them at some point, as each is unique in it's own way!! If you're doing parks a lot this trip, I say BCV - easier park access in my opinion. If you are going to be mostly resort relaxing my vote is AKV. Eithe way you can't go wrong.:thumbsup2

What are the ages of your children? Are they old enough to do things without you a long? Do you prefer one park over the other? Is the pool the best part of the trip for the kids?

It's kind of hard to give you advice without knowing the answers to these questions, but I'll try.

I'd go for Kidani Village at AKV. What a different view that would be from OKW, a savanna full of animals instead of the lush tropical landscaping. The 2 BR has three bathrooms! For a family of seven that would be pretty nice. Also you can use the pool at Kidani or Jambo House, same for the fitness centers. It might be a 10 walk from Kidani to Jambo House where the CS, Mara is located but you walk that at OKW from many of the buildings south of HH. Or if you prefer not to walk, you can hop on a park bus and go over to Jambo House from Kidani. But you have to take a DTD bus to go back to Kidani.

Let us know what resort you chose. Have fun planning.

Walt Disney loved horses. He was a great polo player. Saratoga Springs Resort and Spa is a reflection of him. He would be proud of it. The theme is perfectly elegant. Of all of the Vacation Club Resorts, it is equal to the Grand Floridian because of it's chosen theme and decor.
I love OKW and SSR because they are only DVC. They are both golf course, park outside your door style resorts. I feel like I'm at my vacation homes. Both resort themes are so perfect.

The kids are ages 8, 8 and 10. We will probably spend much of 4 days at the parks. We usually don't got to Epcot because I don't think it is youn g-kid friendly. We will want to spend some time at the pool (weather permitting). I have heard comments that the Kidani pool is not very big but that may be relative to SAB and then that is not a fair comparison. What is the size compared to OKW? I like BCV's location but I like AKV's views among other things. Some people rate VWL as the best DVC resort for kids but I am not sure why.
