Hi guys! I'll be staying two weeks in Disney's animal kingdom lodge with free dining at end June/beg.July this year and we have flexi tickets to use for unlimited visits to universal and ioa. I have seen an offer to stay overnight onsite at universal which includes free universal express passes and early entry to harry potter for 279 dollars plus tax for four of us, room only. My kids are 7 and 11 and not big on scary or big thrill rides and my mum (70) is the only other adult. We have no transport so would be getting a taxi to and from the park and intend to do 2 days at least. I'm wondering if it is worth taking the overnight stay even though we will then have to pay our evening meal and breakfast as we will then get passes, an extra early hour, and have less taxi journeys to pay for!

absolutely.End of June, beginning of July starts to get really busy and with the new Transformers ride opening on June 20th , it is going to be busier

Staying onsite is great. The express passes are good for even the non-thrill rides, so you can skip the long line for the "high in the sky" trolley, etc etc. The passes are not good for Ollivander's wand shop *show*, Forbidden Journey, or Pteranodon Flyers, but they are good for everything else, so I'm sure that you can put them to good use, even without the thrill rides.

And you get them for the day of check-in AND check-out (and any middle days if you're there longer than one night), when you stay at one of the 3 current onsite hotels at Universal. Same with early entrance to Wizarding World...get over there nice and early, and you can have that perk on both days when staying just one night.

As for your WDW free dining offer, maybe you can make a reservation for one of the 2-credit table services, so you're not leaving any credits unused, even while you're at Universal. I personally quite like the food at Universal (though I should mention we only get the vegetarian options, so if eat food different than that I can't vouch for the quality).

Definately worth it :thumbsup2

You`ll love staying onsite. The hotels are so beautiful. Our personal favourite is Royal Pacific Resort, can`t imagine staying anywhere else for our trips. It is like a home away from home.

Even if your family is not into thrill rides there is so much more than them at both parks. The themeing is fabulous and there are lots to see and do.

Early entry to HP is ideal as it will be busy when you are going and Unlimited Express Pass is worth it`s weight in gold.

Have a look at the Universal website and you can see what you have on offer.

Don`t miss the Talking Fountain in IOA.....it`s so funny......kids and adults can spend hours watching it :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1

Hope you all have an amazing time on your trip :)

I will be there at RPR at the same time. Trust me it will be well worth the one night stay for 2 days of express. Trying to do the parks at that time of year plus Transformers opening it will be hot and crowed.

Thanks so much guys, really good advice from all of you, I love this forum! So excited about our trip I think I'm in danger of bursting!
