staying onsite vs staying offsite

well we have decided to stay offsite at the Desert Inn & Suites for the majority of our stay, and stay onsite for the novelty for our last 2 nights in disneyland...

this way we get the best of both worlds... the onsite accomodation at the disneyland hotel will be more than the cost of staying just under a week at the offsite location... and yes, we could have saved that money, but we made a pact on our last visit that we would come back and stay onsite on our next visit...

so we will. albeit for only 2 nights, as the cost of our whole say, if onsite, would exceed the cost of our cruise + our stay in chicago put together :)

I think that's a nice compromise Alicia. I actually did something similar on one of my trips many years ago :)

Alicia you might want to check on that policy. It seems very odd that they would care what time you turn up if you have allready paid for the room. I know we have done this with them before (last time would have been a couple of years ago though).
I would give them a call & if they say OK, I would then email them as to what time you will be arriving & get them to send a confirmation/agreeance of that email back to you so that you have something in writing from them.
I just cannot understand this policy as the reception/check in area is manned 24/7 (they just keep the door locked until a guest needs to go in during the late hours).
