Hi :) I'm looking for a bit of advice. Me and my friend are taking a trip to Florida in may, staying on I-Drive for 14 nights and planning to do Universal and Disney. The plan all along was to just use the hotel shuttles to get to Disney and back (I know y'all wouldn't recommend those shuttles but they were fine for me last year when we did 1 day at Disney). Thing is, I was curious to see how much it would cost to stay on Disney property for a couple of nights, and the price is £285 for 2 adults for 6 nights at All Star Music resort from Monday 9th - Saturday 14th. That price doesn't seem too bad, and I'm starting to really like the idea of being on property for a week (more or less) and doing Disney 'properly', the only hesitation I have is the extra cost added on now to the trip.

What would you DISers recommend? :)

I would say if you have the money then go for it :)
You could concentrate on Universal etc whilst you are staying on International Drive then fully focus on the Disney Parks whilst staying on property (taking advantage of EMHs)

Exactly. EMH's and being able to catch IllumiNations, Wishes and Fantasmic! without having to rush back to a shuttle or pay for taxi's is what is most tempting. I think I've convinced myself haha. I'm getting my bonus from christmas at work next week too so hopefully I won't feel too guilty about the extra cost :rolleyes1

Only question now is, whats the difference between the All Star resorts? Any one in particular thats 'better'?

I think it's a great idea. I'd suggest however that you stay at Pop century instead of the AS. Much more central location, newer, better foodcourt IMHO, no chance of having to share buses. We've stayed at Pop twice and to me it's like a superior value resort. Have fun whatever you decide :)

Thanks, Pop was £75 extra though, I know it's not a lot but considering I didn't plan on any extra cost for this I didn't want to go too overboard. Anyway, I just booked :cool1: May 9th - 14th at All Star Music (the price for Music and Sports was the same and I thought I'd enjoy the Music theme more). So excited to be on Disney property and take advantage of EMH :goodvibes Thanks for the encouragement guys.

all star music is a fun place - go for it!!!

i actually like All Star Music better than Pop....but they're both fine...

staying on property is really worth the extra money....it's just so much more convenient....

at the all star music, if i remember correctly, there are movies at night by the pool...
and also a karaoke in the food court one or two nights a week.....

Just to let you guys know, I've now added another 3 nights at All Star Movies on too :cool1: So 8 nights on property. So excited :wizard: I always thought it would just be too expensive, but it's actually not too bad and money is there to be spent on amazing things like this! :lmao::goodvibes

Congrats on adding more nights - that's how it started with us, 3 nights onsite and then before you know it you're spending all your holiday there

keep in mind that there are two different annual passes...
the cheaper one has the 4 parks (MK, AK, HS and Epcot).
The more expensive one has the 4 parks, plus the waterparks and disneyquest.

congrats on booking the onsite hotel!!! woo hoo!!!!

Eight nights onsite! You'll have so much fun. :woohoo:

Just checking... For some hotels, you have to be over 21 to check in. What is Disney's stance on this? If it isn't allowed, you may have to get written consent from a parent. :)

Sound like a good plan- with UK ticket prices what they are at the moment. I upgraded my ticket to an AP last trip and we'll all be getting one this time. It works out with a really substantial saving with the DVC discount added on too!

Sent an email to Comfort Inn Universal about that a while ago, they said as long as I was in possession of my own card it was fine, I'll double check with Disney though, thanks for the reminder:thumbsup2

EDIT: Rang Disney UK just to ask, the cm assured me that as long as there is somebody over 18 checking in, it wouldn't be a problem and the over over 21 'rule' is more of a guideline.
