Sorry me again :lmao:

Can someone suggest a cheap offsite hotel in I-drive for 1 week, I want to do a split say, 1 week on I-drive and 2 weeks onsite.

I have stayed in the Rosen Plaza before (lovely hotel but WAYYY out of my price range this time lol).

We had a really nice stay at the Fairfield Inn and Suites - its on a side road less than a 2 minute walk from I-Drive. I'm not sure of the prices but it was clean, good size rooms, and complimentary breakfast every day which saves a bit of money!

The road it is on comes out opposite the worlds biggest McDonalds - its that end of I-Drive. Very central and loads of restaurants and wet n wild in walking distance.

Post your dates and I will have a quick look see if I can see any bargains. Has it got to be Idrive? Personally I prefer LBV, have you tried LBV?
What sort of budget you looking for per night?

Not going this year Wayne but if you can show me what im may possibly pay would be fab. Wanted I-drive to be near Seaworld etc. Also anything cheap but not too expensive.

Oct 23rd-30th Oct is most likely the dates we will be going.

We generally prefer I drive, and have stayed in various hotels from the very cheap to mid priced. We prefer the following three
Orlando Metropolitan Express -
Rodeway Inn
Monumental Movieland (previously Best western movieland)

None of the above are the cheapest on the drive but do offer good quality accommodation at a reasonable price.

Try
www.travelrepublic.co.uk
www.alpharooms.com
www.roomsnet.com

good prices on all of the above sites

for reviews we use tripadvisor although some reviews need to be taken with a pinch of salt (preferably a big one)

good luck with your hunting......

Emma, my friend stayed at a very reasonable hotel within walking distance of Sea World and Discovery Cove. I can't remember what it was called but I'll be seeing her in the next couple of weeks and I'll ask her.

Thanks Elaine :)

We dont want anything fancy just somewhere with a pool and a nice bed.

Nothing jumping out at me so just priced up the 3 Merlin307 named

23rd-30th 2009
Orlando Metropolitan Express £28.53/night
Rodeway Inn £23.57/night
Monumental Movieland £30.21

Loads from £18/night 2* upwards
Hopefully £ will get stonger when you are reasy for booking and tehre will be some good deals around.

Wow thats some good prices, cheers Wayne i'll go have a look and see what the hotels are like.

Emma, I found out where it was, it was Sheraton World but when I googled it it looks like it's been rebranded as The International Plaza Resort & Spa and it looks like they've rebranded their rates too, I'm sure it was much cheaper when my friend stayed there.

We stayed here in 2002, was a nice place but got bad reviews 2-3 years ago, just had a look at Tripadvisor, still gets mixed reviews(doesn't everywhere on there) http://www.tripadvisor.com/Hotel_Re...ational_Plaza_Resort_Spa-Orlando_Florida.html

You can walk to Seaworld from there, just a 10 min walk.

Had a look rates are still quite good, Oct 23-30th this year, I could book now for £28.31/night

Thanks Wayne :) I'll have a look at the reviews tomorrow. 10 min walk to Seaworld seems great.

My friend stayed there in 2007, she did a split stay with Disney's Coronado Springs and actually preferred this hotel, she found the room nicer.

Great rates Wayne, that's the sort of price she paid. :thumbsup2

Its like us last August we did 17 nights at Country Inn and Suites at £20/night, had the best beds ever in over 20 trips, fridge, microwave, wireless net, and breakfast. Spot on for the money, then after our cruise moved to AKL savanah room, got AP rate at £81 but should have been over £150/night, great for 3 nights but beds were nowhere near as comfy.

Just booked Country Inn again for end of May 9 nights, thought I was going to get it for £26/night but cashback would not work so its cost £28/night, still great value.

For a budget option, we like Comfort Inn Universal, 30 seconds away from I Drive, at junction of Sand Lake and Universal Boulevard. Good, basic accommodation, free breakfast(!), and good location. Easy access to I-4 along Sand Lake Road, and quick access to Universal and SeaWorld, using Universal Boulevard to cut out the traffic snarl-ups on I Drive.

It looks really good, this will go on the list me thinks. Cheers guys. :thumbsup2

We stayed at the Holiday Inn Express one year and I can honestly say it wasn't worth the extra money.

The room was very large but dated and quite dingy.

I wish we had stuck to one of the others mentioned here.
