Staying in resort, but only 2 park days- is it worth it?

We are pretty low maintenance usually- last time we came to Disney we stayed off resort, therefore no dining plan, did 3 park days, breakfasts usually easy granola bars, oatmeal, etc, and ate PB&J in the park for lunch, dinners were cooked at our hotel(stayed in a hotel with a kitchenette) (except 1 ADR for Breakfast, 1 lunch meal, and I think we did 1 dinner somewhere QS style).

This year we're staying on resort- originally AS Movies, but TA talking to us about changing to AS Sports and with QS dining plan for our trip of 4 nights, 5 days, and 2 in park tickets, only adding about $250 to add a dining plan (AS Movies doesn't have as good a deal apparently).

I already have us set up for an ADR at Crystal Palace, which I know will add on $129 to our meal ticket, but would you opt into the QS plan for $250 if you knew you'd be willing to eat PB&Js for those 2 park days and probably be eat off site the rest if not forced to eat on site? I mean I think we would be eating all of our meals off site or bringing them into the park with us otherwise.

We've never gotten the meal plan as it always costs more than we spend. If you are eating mostly off site why would you buy it?

My thoughts are if I buy it, then we eat at the restaurant in the hotel (I'm assuming there is one) before and after- or take with us. But I'm just not seeing the value in doing that.

It really doesn't look like a good fit for you. What are your plans for the other three days? If you are going offsite, you won't use the credits. It would probably be cheaper to just pay oop for any meals you want to eat at the food court.

We'll do LEGOLAND one day. I figure we come in Friday around lunchtime- we'll have to eat lunch and dinner Friday wherever. Saturday LEGOLAND, Sunday Magic Kingdom, Monday Epcot, Tuesday we'd leave that morning after breakfast. I seriously will probably pack pb&Js Saturday and Monday though for lunches though if we don't do the dining plan. And we are big on water- and I'd pack a few juice boxes if needed.

And we are doing Crystal Palace Sunday night.

We found the price of the QSDP to be more than we spent a day on CS meals. There are 4 of us (2 adults, boys ages 12 and 10 on last trip), and we typically got two, sometimes three meals to split. A lot depends on how you eat and what everyone wants. If you have the time, you might look at the CS menus on this site or Allears.net, see what you might want to order/things your family likes, then look on the Dining reviews subboard for pictures of those meals. We don't eat burgers or hot dogs, but tend to order something like sliced pork or turkey with a potato/rice side and a veggie side and cornbread (this was at Caribbean Beach resort, but if I remember right, the AS had something similar). Two of those meals were enough for us to share and have some left over. At MK, we like the chicken and ribs meal at Cosmic Rays. Things like that.
