Staying in EI and have a question

We are going 4/6 to 4/14 and staying in EI. We plan on taking a break mid day. Please be honest with me and tell me how much of a hassle leaving the park mid day is. Is it worth it?

most of the parks - yes worth it.

the Mk can be a hassle to leave - you need to catch either the monrail or ferry - then stand in line and wait for the tram - then walk to your car.

this side adventure can be as long as hour from leaving the MK to your car....

so what I have done before is park at Epcot - then ride the monrail to TTC and switch monrails or ride the ferry to MK. but this time the MK is open later than Epcot - so this doesn't work when the MK is open later.

the other parks definitely worth it.

of course it might be worth it at MK - if you leave before lunch and come back after dinner. that is enough time out of the park to recharge and get relaxed.

Should take you no longer than 5-15 mins to get back to EI for a mid-day break, depending on which park you're coming from of course (AK is VERY close.... so is MGM... Epcot took me 7 mins to get to WHR door-door). MK of course is an absolute pain to get in and out of.

It is very easy/quick to get to and from Disney. Absolutely you can go home for a siesta and return in the evening. In fact I highly recommend it if you are staying the whole day or have small kids in your group.

Make sure you use the Sherberth Road entrance to Disney - it is quicker than using the maingate entrance.

Very easy..very doable.

From wherever you are on Disney property, head for Animal Kingdom. (well, unless you're *at* AK )

That's going to get you onto the Osceola Parkway...stay in the left lane...turn left at the light...Sherbeth Road. Right onto 192, left at next light...right onto FSRoad...bingo!

Problem we always have is, once we get back to the house, we're having such a lovely afternoon/evening in the pool, relaxing, we don't want to go back to the Parks

We stayed at EI in 2005 and 2006. Our kids are 5 and 7 and we took a break most days. As others have posted, only the MK presents a bit of a challenge.

Otherwise, you just walk out, tram pulls up, you are at your car within 5 mins, takes no more than 5-15 minutes to get to EI.
