Staying in a Disney Good Neighbor hotel, pointers please

For part of our DVC trip we couldn't use points, even just at a resort. So, we are staying at a good neighbor hotel. A Marriott town place, I believe in Lake Buena Vista. We will have a car there for 4 nights.

Any not to miss restaurants for a good dinner, not chains? Looking for something we wouldn't eat in Texas, our home state.

My husband would love fresh grouper and key lime pie!

We can use a lunch or two, also.

Also, where is the good Disney Merchandise outlet? And, any other not to miss shopping.

Anything semi close that is a not miss to see.

We will have nights in Disney and Disney Springs so trying to stay out of there for those four dinners.
