staying at YC - still go to water park?

We thought TL much better than BB- but I would suggest going at opening. With the cost, and possibility of waiting an hour in the hot sun for a 30 second slide- no. We went to both parks this trip. Our teens loved the wave pool and could have stayed there all day. They were frustrated with huge lines!

SAB is great with older kids who can swim and supervise themselves, but the water parks have so much more. I don't see a comparison, plus I hated the sandy bottom at SAB, it was bunches of sand on the bottom, that you kicked around but I don't get the appeal.

Yes, you can see from my question that I considered the 'hassle' element of it as well... So, if we plan to go, we should really plan on staying a while. I was thinking of staying until after lunch and then going back to resort to shower an change and then walk to WS. Also planning on having that be the day we get a before dinner FP for FEA and then enjoy World Showcase. The Epcot tiers are such a pain that that seems a good use of a One FP day at Ecpot, since we would do two other Epcot days.

I would love to just 'wing it' as suggested earlier but the FP and ADR planning complicated things.

May I suggest, if you are early people to rope drop Epcot, wearing your water pack clothes. Head directly Frozen, then to Soarin and maybe single rider on Test Track. Or if your boys are opposed to Frozen just do the other two.

Since the water parks don't open until 10 you will be able to get a couple headliners out of the way. Then go back to BC and grab your stuff and go.

we are not really 'big water park people' but we do enjoy them when we occasionally go, which is once every year or so. However, in all of our years at WDW, we have never taken the time to do a water park there. More than dying to go to the wp, I think we feel like we have missed something by Not going... I am honestly not sure that one morning at wp is worth $250 though. That may have just answered my question. When did those prices get like that? I am already dealing with the PH price increase, which I really only use for dinners. I may need to rework my plan for one or the other.

SAB would definitely be easier, especially as I envision not seeing the teenagers the whole day once we get to the wp, and Ds9 will constantly be wanting to catch back up with them. :( I am also intrigued by the big slide at BWI. I actually prefer the colors and theming of that hotel. I guess we will see what happens if discounts ever come out and I can get a better rate at one vs the other.
Yes, SAB is way easier to keep track of the kiddos. We just told our girls to stay together and they had a blast exploring. The slide was fun for all ages and with me wearing contact lenses, it was mild enough to not splash water into my face. The atmosphere is lively and we never had a problem finding a beach lounging chair. Oh and Hurricane Hanna's is right there, so you can refill your mugs easily as you soak in the rays! :beach:
