I am staying at the Wilderness Lodge and plan on going to Epcot one night. I am trying to decide if I should take the boat over and head to Kona in the Poly or if I should take a taxi and go to Captains Grille at the Yacht Club. Thoughts? Our reservation is at 6:40 for either and then I want to head to EPCOT.

I thought heading to the Captains Grille would be easiest since I can then walk or ferry to EPCOT, but then again, I can always hop on the monorail if I am at Kona.

I will be there with 2 little girls.

Thanks,

Kona is the better meal.

As far as transportation goes, if you are at the Poly you should walk over to the TTC to catch the monorail to Epcot since the Resort monorail will go first to GF, MK and Contemporary before getting to the TTC.

both places are very good. If you want a steak I preferred the captains grille. If you plan on something other than steak then Kona is really nice (the steak is good too just not as good as the captains grille). On the other hand, the best meal I had was the surf and turf at the Rose and Crown, if you are headed to Epcot anyway that may be one to consider. The fish was good, the sides were good, the steak was really good, it was a bit noisy but a great place to eat and you can catch illuminations while you eat if you time it right

We enjoy both of those restaurants, so for convenience that night, I would choose Captain's Grille. Especially with little ones - eliminate the boat and monorail and just take the taxi!
