Staying at SS for the first time....a few q's. Does anyone have a checklist of what supplies are in the kitchen in the two bed-room villa's
Also if I want a specific area or room--is there someone at the hotel directly I can call to request past member services for DVC?

There should be a list in one of the inside kitchen cupboards. It is also listed in our planners and the web site what should be in the kitchen. Request would need to go to MS. DVCNEWS has a list I believe as well.

Any phone number for the hotel will actually give you a call center even if they answer SS, even if you are calling the front desk from your room it is a call center.

Requests should be made through Member Services; that's DVC's process because it's the most efficient way to handle room requests. MS will add the request to your reservation record, and your request will be right there for the room assigner to see when they pull up your reservation. As the PP said, calls to the published resort number will connect you to a call center, not to the resort itself.

I can't put my finger on the list of items in the kitchen - there used to be a list online somewhere, but I can't find it. The only thing I brought from home was a pizza slicer and some extra dish detergent for the dishwasher and we made out just fine. No blender or crockpot, but basically everything else I needed was there. I agree to the previous poster to call member services about a week out from your stay to make your room request. Enjoy!

There's no need to wait to make requests; they can be added when you make your reservation, or anytime after that. I think a week might be cutting it a little close; I'm not sure when they're doing room assignments these days.

But you CAN ask the call center to connect you to the resort Front Desk. I did that on our last OKW stay and got exactly what I requested. (You have to wait pretty late in the process, because the resort doesn't have your reservation info until a week or less from arrival. I think I called about 4 days prior to arrival.)

The CM at checkin said that was a better way to do it than simply giving the info to MS...which had only been successful for us about 50% of the time (and we make only one or two very basic requests).

I am surprised they connected you, they are not suppose to and surprised the CM at the Front Desk agreed.

MS has asked that members leave their requests with them and not bother the resort.

The reason they stopped accepting faxes and the reason they started routing all calls to the resort to the call center is to prevent this.

Just becasue they say it is the front desk doesn't mean it is.
