Can you help me with some things, please?...

Is it walkable for 2 adults and an 8yo?
How long does it take? Would you go back for break mid-day - or is it too far?
Do you pass the Subway and 7-11?

We won't have a car. Where is closest place to get snacks etc - besides 7-11?
Is it walkable?

Is there any good family restaurants close by for a late dinner after the parks?

Is there a breakfast? Where would be a good place to get if not?

thx!

10-15 minute walk. We did it with 3 adults and 4 kids (2 in a stroller).

Subway or Quiznos isn't technically on the way but not out of the way either. It's on the other side of Harbor (the hotel is on the same side of harbor as the parks). There is a quickie mart on the way to the parks that is very convenient. You can get fruit, water, snacks.

There are restaurants across the street from the parks or in DTD. Also some will suggest Gardenwalk which you could walk to take the ART shuttle to.

Portofino doesn't have a breakfast. We had the kids suite so we brought our own breakfast foods to eat in the room.

Hey there! We stayed at the Portofino summer 2011 and are planning to stay there again this summer. Yes it is very walkable. It is such a short walk..about a block. I am 19 so no troubles with the walk there, but we did have a 9 year old in our group who handled it just fine. As the poster above me mentioned there is a subway that is basically across the street.. we got sandwiches from there to take back to the room on one of the days during our mid afternoon break from the heat. It is such a short walk. You spend more time waiting for the ok to cross the street then the actual walk LOL!

There is a little shop attached to the hotel where you can pick up a couple of snacks. Also on the way, also mentioned by the previous poster, is a little ABC(i think) Market where we grabbed some granola bars, etc.

As for places to eat...downtown disney is where we usually go. In the morning we would walk over to IHOP, directly across the street, and bring back pancakes and fruit to our room before heading off to the parks. It's open 24 hours, so if everything else is closed and you're still hungry you can always head over there. It's not our favorite place to eat but is do able.

Yes it's ABC Market. They had a ton of items even some grocery stuff and umbrella strollers.
