Ok all you Disney experts I need help. We have decided to stay at Pop in Dec. We are planning to be there from Dec29 2005-Jan 6 2006. We have gotten a good rate quote thru Small World Vacations. My question is do we go standard or preferred? The price diffrence is about $179.00. It will be me my DH and 2 DDs. The oldest will be 8 and the youngest will be 6. So I need help deciding weither to go standard or preferred. HELP! :wizard:

My opinion is save the extra money and go standard.. Perferred gets you closer to the pool and classic hall.. We just got back and it was cold and almost too cold to swim and the walk from our room (70's facing the playground) to classic hall was really short - basically right around the corner. We may have gotten lucky with our room location, but if you choose to go standard you may want to give them a call when you vacation get closer to ask for a room is close, but still in standard price range..

I'd go with standard as well. Pop is not a large resort. We were in the 80's section and it took us less than 5 minutes to get to the main building. Use that $179 for something fun instead.

We went preferred since we have a 1 yr old and older children at Easter time. Anything to make life easier! At the end of the night, when we get off that bus, I think I will be tired of walking with teenagers and toddlers! With all the money we are spending an additional 75 is a drop for convience. Just my opinion.

We had orriginally been booked by our travel agent into the preferred buildings. We had said that we wanted to be "close to the coffee", but then realized that it would cost us more for that request, so we switched to standard room before our arrival and I am glad that we did. We ended up in a nice quiet section of the 50's buildings on the back side. I wouldn't have traded it for the world. I walked all the grounds one morning and it seemed that where we were located was closer to everything than that of some rooms of the preferred buildings. I can't say enough for the quiet too! Not being so close to the busy pool was a big plus for us. (While I realize that they probably powerwash all the icons at one time or another, the morning we went to the main pool they were power washing the outsides of the 60's buildings and I was thanking goodness that I was not in one of those rooms. The power washing equiptment was quite loud.) Good luck in your planning.

I love POP.I would stay there again anytime.I stayed there in August and then again in October-November. I too wouldnt go with preferred. Both times i was there i was in the 50's area it was nice quiet and not far from the main area. The 50's has its own smaller pool shaped like a bowling pin.

Thanks for all the info. Hubby and I have decided to stay at the standard and save the extra money to spend on something else. Maybe I will use it on an anniversary suprise while we are there. We will be there for our 9th wedding anniversary so any anniversary suprise tips will be welcomed. Thanks. :love2:
