Using a friend's timeshare, taking DH, DS7 & DD4. We're staying in a studio there. I heard there's a new pool slide. Any other news or helpful tips about OKW?

Hi there and welcome to the Disboards!

I stayed there for the first time last month. I liked it, although because I was born and raised in Florida, I prefer a different type of theme. I am sure you will love it. I can't really think of any major tips for you EXCEPT...if I were to stay there again, I would request a room near the main pool/lobby/restaurant. I kind of felt isolated in my room and although I was close to a quiet pool, DH and I enjoyed the main pool (that has the new slide) much more.

The great thing about the resort is I do not think there are any bad views. It seemed every building had a great view. You can also take a boat to Downtown Disney which is fun. It is like a 20 or 30 minute ride, but very scenic.

Enjoy! I am sure there are plenty of folks who are a lot more familiar with the resort than I am!

I love OKW - very laid back.

you can relax here.

if you are using someone else timeshare - you will NOT get housekeeping.

there are 2 queen beds, microwave, under the counter refrigerator, toaster, coffee maker, can openers - plus 4 glasses, 2 mugs,
4 paper plates, bowls - plastic knives, forks and spoons (again 4)

if you have a car - you will love OKW.

you can use the magical express if you are flying - just call the number on your reservation form (the same one you used to pay the $95 exchange fee to DVC).

they will need everyone in your party name, ages, flight number both arriving and departing.

if you don't have a car - then you might consider using

www.wegoshop.com

I like the Publix grocery stores.

If you need more information or want directions - just ask.

also post on the DVC board - this is a DVC board and you will get lots of responses there.

We love OKW. If you have a car you can park right outside your room. It's a very laid back and relaxing resort. There are lots of fun activities to enjoy around the resort- shuffleboard, tennis, biking, boats, etc... You will have a great time.
