Staying at DLH - any special.....?

Okay, we leave next week for California. Doing San Diego and Santa Monica/Hollywood before DL. Any special housekeeping tips for DLH? I know there are pages of this info for WDW. Not sure about DL. Also, we have a resort/pool view booked and I requested Sierra Tower. Anybody have any special room numbers they would request? I would LOVE a room with a resort view, but a pool view would be fine too.
We are just so excited to go. We were supposed to go last April, but DH fell and broke both legs severely, so we had to postpone it to this year. I am hoping he will be able to do all the walking required!

Since I need my coffee in the am, I discovered if you ask for a coffee pot at DLH you will get one. with coffee, of course.

Well now, that is a VERY important tip for me!!! I am a coffee addict!!!

Given the ages of your kids, this may not matter, but if you ask for "special delivery" upon check in they will get autographed photo's of a character. I asked when we checked in and the guy wasn't sure, when we got back to the room that night there was a message waiting that my dd had a "special delivery at the front desk, so down we go and she gets a black and white photo of several princesses in front of the castle, with autograph's. She was so excited. That trip I also sneaked new pj's that were minnie mouse and left them on her bed with a card from the characters welcoming her to DL, again she was very excited.

Sierra tower is nice. If you do go for DTD view, ask for a higher floor. They have trees that block the view from lower floors.

Ask for coffee maker.
Ask for extra soap (or hide what's there and they will replace it), makes for a nice treat after vacation to use mickey soap!

You can call Vacation Planning, they can leave autograph pics of your favorite characters in the room. (free)
You can also order for treats to be delivered each day or baskets (can be pricey), even pre made ears (cost of ears and bit more for their service of delivering to room).

take the time to walk around the grounds at the hotel and play the remote control boats.

Yes, my DS will love the boats!

The gift baskets look interesting. My family woud really enjoy that. Now I just have to figure out how much I can afford to spend on that. What a wonderful surprise that will be the day we arrive! And I will request the autographed photos as well. My DD loves to scrapbook, so that will be a great souvenir for them.

Does housekeeping do the towel animals at DLH the way they do at WDW?

Make sure to request the room type with 2 queen beds and a sofa sleeper! Then when you call for your coffee maker, request a rollaway too since it is free. Each of you will have your own bed! (Not saying DH and I don't love to snuggle but DL takes a lot out of you if you go from ee to closing and it is so nice to stretch out and have the bed all to yourself for a change!)

We sometimes request a table too since many rooms only come with a desk. Then they bring us a round room service table complete with tablecloth and beautiful runner(plus fresh changes). The set up that works best for us is to have the rollaway all the way pushed up into the corner along the slider and then the table in front of the window. I love sitting there and having my coffee or at night watching the fireworks when my kids are already sleeping in a room with the DTD/resort view! Then in the morning, I roll the table over to the tv and feed the kids cereal to tide them over until "real breakfast" while I shower and dress!

Yep, DLH spoils you if you let them!
