We had a wonderful pool view on the fifth floor. The hotel is clean and there is plenty to do for a day or so, but you will need a car for any lengthy stay.

We went down to go swimming again around 8:00 in the evening and my children and many others found human waste in the pool

Needless to say, the pool was emptied of people and closed off the rest of the night.

We just went to bed early to get a head start on some rest for the cruise :)

I will also say that no one from housekeeping turned in a small jewelry bag I left on the dresser behind the TV. Fortunately, there was only costume jewelry in it. Still bugs me quite a bit however.

Would you stay there again?

Sorry to hear about the pool incident, that would really spoil the fun for me . . . would gross me out to go in afterwards . . . better I don't think about what has happened "before" in the pool.

Was it crowded?

How were the noise levels for you? How many days did you stay there? How did you get to the port?

Yes, it was pretty gross. But that could happen at any hotel.

I had a great rate of something like $150 plus tax for a two bedroom suite using the 300 code. If I could get that rate again, I think I would go back. I was too upset that no one turned in my jewelry bag to really trust them again. I certainly would be more careful. My own dumb fault for telling the kids to check the rooms for left items and not doing it myself.

Live and learn :)

We arrived around 3:00 (were planning on being ther much closer to 1:30, but USAir lost 4 of our bags  so we spent way too much time at the airport. But our room was ready. We went to the pool, ate dinner at the restuarant which was good. Price was what I expected for a resort, but not too outrageous.

It really did not seem crowded at all. We had no trouble getting chairs and had a blast in the lazy river. The line for the slide did get pretty long as it got closer to closing time. We did the golf which was a lot of goofy type fun...didn't keep score.

As far as noise goes, our room was right by the elevator on the 5th floor and it's like an echo chamber. The back bedroom could really hear it, but it was very quiet in the LR and MBR. Fortunately we were awake when the noisy kids started screaming in the hallway. I would request a room away from the elevators.

We stayed the one night andchecked out around 9:45 and caught the shuttle to the ship. You let RonJon's know when you check in that you need one and the arrange it on the spot. It cost $5.00 per person.

We got there using FLTours which was absolutely wonderful about waiting around while we filled out lost baggage claims. I'm going to post a thread about it.

Thanks for all the information! What great help. I also plan to use FLTours again this time, they were great this February. We are going down a day early, and I already have a studio reserved for the night before our cruise.

Question for you, on our confirmation it shows the unit location as "pool bldg" Is this were you were? It is a nice location? I am also happy to hear that you can reserve the shuttle once you get there.

Thanks again!
Robin

Our confirmation said "poolside" We were right over the pool on the 5th floor. We could see all the way out to the ocean.

Oh that reminds me.....on Friday night, we took a walk over to the ocean. It didn't take too long (we have teens), and it was very pretty.

If you go over there, make sure you look to the left and right of you as you're walking through the dunes. We saw a big turtle and it would have been so easy to miss!

I had a great rate of something like $150 plus tax for a two bedroom suite using the 300 code.

What is the 300 code? And what websites did you guys use to book RON JON's?

Did you have time chioces for the shuttle? I am tring to decide about a rental car or a towncar for our trip. We are flying in the day before and staying at Ron Jon. Thanks!:D

I tried the 300 code and another one that was posted on the boards (I don't remember) but as of mid June those codes were expired. I got a studio for $120.00 with no discount codes.

I emailed twice and did get a response, however my actual booking was done over the phone.

I'm also curious about the times for the shuttle. I haven't brought that up yet with them. They did say I had to talk to the concierge people about setting that up.

Good luck!
Robin

I too booked over the phone. I'm not surprised the code is expired. It was a good one that's for sur.

I requested 10:00 a. m. for the shuttle, the concierge called the service, they said fine and they were there on the dot. :)

We arrived at port, were 4th in line at the CC desk while the kids waited in the boarding line and I would say we were about 25th after concierge and disabilities.
