Just curious, we will be there in July, I was wondering how everyone's experience was. We have not stayed there since 2001 and we are looking forward to it! Is it still clean? How was the Food Court? Conditions of the pool? Rooms? Etc.....

I though it was great. The rooms were clean, the grounds were nice. The food court was clean, personally, I don't think they have the best selection of food (especially at night) but that isn't a huge deal to me, plus, riverside is a 10 or 15 minute walk away. I noticed the hot tub was broken (even though it had water).

I really had no complaints. My husband and I had such a good time there we're staying again for our anniversary from July 3rd to 10th. I like that it's small, and I find the bus pick up to be very convenient and not crowded at all.

We loved the FQ when we were there is November. The rooms were very clean and looked very nice. We enjoyed the food court. It had a decent variety of foods and no on in our group had difficulty choosing something. The Beignets for breakfast were yummy and worth the wait! It was very clean there, as well. Breakfast time was the most crowded.

We can't wait to stay there again in October!

I stayed at the POFQ last May, and I was very impressed by the renovations. The rooms were so fresh, and the beds very comfy. I liked the privacy curtain in between the vanity area and the bed area. I really enjoyed the food court. I had several good meals there.

My husband and I were there for five nights back in January. We really liked POFQ. The rooms felt fresh and clean and were quite comfortable. We were in bldg. 5 and found it both quiet and convenient to everything there. We got dinner from the food court one night. If your used to real Louisiana food I'd recommend sticking to the other food courtstuff. We found the jambalaya really bland. The ice cream cookie, however, was fantastic! Huge and freshly made with hand scooped ice cream. You can choose from several different types of cookies and flavors of ice cream. For other meals we preferred taking the boat or walking over to Boatwrights at POR.

We spent several afternoons by the pool. Pretty nice but themed more for kids than adults I would think. Temps were in the upper 70's, lower 80's while we were there and the water was always warm.

The bus service was on par with other Disney resorts. We never had to wait long for a bus. About 75% of the time POFQ was the first stop. Other times the bus dropped off at POR first. The lines for the boat to DTD got really long in the evenings. Boats filled up quickly. We found it quicker to take the boat to POR and then continue on it back to POFQ than to stand in the DTD line.

Hope this helps!

Although I have nothing to compare it to since this is our first trip to WDW, we'll be there in 2 days. We'll let you know how it looks.

We spent 2 nights at POFQ a few weeks ago, our first since they refurbished the resort last year. Our room was wonderful, fresh and clean, nice frig. The beds were much more comfy than we remembered. We had breakfast in the food court each morning. It was great. POFQ is our favorite moderate resort. Have fun! :earsgirl:

our first time since 2001 as well. When we went in 2002 it was closed due to the renovations and stayed at CBR. While we loved CBR, we liked POFQ a bit better.

We stayed there in December and LOVED it! I'd definitely stay there again. Loved the theme and the rooms were very nice and very clean, if just a tad on the small side, but nothing major. I especially loved the size of the resort. Everything is a short walk. It's the perfect size resort IMHO. One of our favorite things too was the boat to DTD, be sure to give that a try, it's a very nice ride, we did it a few times. I'm sure you'll be pleased!

Last time for me was 2001 and I thought it was great even then. Now I'm taking DH to FQ since he hates those long walks to the FC after you have walked in the parks all day!

Can't wait to see the new rooms!

I also had a very nice stay at POFQ last year. What a nice place. Like I have said before mousekeeping was not quite as good as a deluxe but it is really a wonderfull little resort. I would always stay there over the huge moderates with the long walks. We stayed in building 1 which I think is as far away as you can get from the pool and FC but was still less than 10 mins away.

We stayed there for 6 nights in Feb., it was our 2nd time there (we fell in love with it in March 2003). We just love it there, I don't know, it just "fits" us and we are so comfortable there! We love the the food court selection, there's several things that all of us enjoy. The pool is wonderful, my sons love the serpent slide!! It's so pretty, and lush, and quiet... We're going back in May, it'll probably be our last ever time staying there as we are becoming DVC members. We are a growing family of 5, and we just need more space. We will miss staying at POFQ though!!!

I stayed at the French Quarter the beginning of Feb this year. We were in room 6201 (Building 6, 2nd floor, room 1) and it was perfect. New comforters, curtains, and mattresses; carpet was clean even in the corners. We had requested a corner room (a second set of windows makes the room look larger) and gotten the request granted. If you sat at the little table and looked out the side window you could even see the river from the room! Because of the location of the room and the way the building was placed, we never had any foot traffic walking by the room at all. Coffee maker and refridgerator were included in the room as well. (On a side note, this room did have the connecting door to room 6202.)
No room would be more than a 7 minute walk from the main building for checkin and dining. The food court area had great food and awesome service. A mananger was nice enough to sit with us during on lunch to discuss the Marti Gras theming that was hanging in the food court. Checkin went smooth, with a wait no longer than 10 minutes.
Busses and boats arrived on time, nothing more than a 10 minute wait, with a 5 minute wait during busy times. The Downtown Disney bus makes a stop at POR first, then POFQ on it's return trip.
My only complaint about this hotel would be the boats. And even then it's not a hotel complaint. The boats are LOUD and DIESEL. Since they don't run 24 hours a day it's not that bad, but you could definately hear them at night if we were near the river.
Hope this helps!!
