Hi everyone, we normally stay at the Fairfield Marriot near DTW for the sleep, park and fly deal. This time however though we have gift cards for any Best Western hotel and we would like to know if anyone has stayed at a BW near the airport and used thier shuttle and parking??

We just got back from Florida and we stayed at the Best Western in Romulus before our trip. The hotel was clean , there was continental breakfast in the morning and we left our vehicle right in their parking lot. They gave us a card to call when we arrived back in Detroit so a shuttle was there to pick us up within 5 minutes after calling. It was overall a great experience.

That is great to hear, thank you for sharing. I feel better booking a hotel when someone can give a firsthand experience...

That is good that you can park your car in the hotel parking lot because most of the hotels around Detroit airport will not let you park your cars in their lot. They have to park in another lot.

The Fairfield Marriot uses the big park & fly next to their hotel. I think they share it with a HoJo and maybe another? It is a secured parking lot. I guess I missed in the previous post, that we will be leaving our car right in the hotel parking lot, so unsecured?

when i stayed there- I parked my car at the place with the yellow vans and the yellow tower

I stayed at Four Points Sheraton for a recent trip to the US & they also use the "yellow" parking lot thing with the tower. It was very quick and efficient and only accross the street (Four Points does not have breakfast-there is coffee and mini-danish in the lobby. Our flight was so early it didn't matter. We ate in the airport). It was $105 for hotel & parking on expedia.

I did qwikpark (no hotel stay - I know they offer that) and was pleased. They have coupons, etc on their website.

They service was quick, convenient, and polite. Better than parking at the airport IMO.

I stayed at the Best Western on Merriman Rd. last NYE before flying to Vegas on points. It was ok. Our only issue was that we confirmed twice before we left that they will take the points for the Park and Fly package but it was a different story when they got there. The manager wasn't going to give in at first, but finally said we could leave the car on their property for the 2 nights we were going to be gone.

This year we're staying at the La Quinta Inn and Suites. We got a great rate of $99/night on a room with a jacuzzi tub and 8 days parking. Their best available rate for that room was $109/night!

Do you mean the Best Western Gateway International Hotel on Wickham Rd? This is the one we are thinking about staying at when we fly from DTW in January.

Sorry, yes, the Best Western on Wickham Road.

I think I had Merriman in my head as we had just booked the La Quinta which is on Merriman.

Sorry for the confusion!
