We visited Disney World for the first in Nov 2000. We stayed at Dixie Landings for 6 nights and had a great time.
One of the big decisions we had to make was were to stay when planning for the trip. DL came out #1.
It was great as mentioned, but if you want to save money and stay on site try the All Stars.
For this reason. Going for the first time you will want to see so much that you will not be in room much.
All we did was shower and sleep there. We really didn't stay in the room much or use the resort much other than the food court which the All Stars have.
