I'm spending a few days at WDW - my daughter flew in for the weekend and we had a fun time in the parks. I'm just lounging for the rest of the week - I've been reading on my balcony, etc. Having a fun-ish time but I think I won't go to the parks anymore.

I'm supposed to stay until Friday but I'm considering leaving tomorrow instead. I'd lose 13 DVC points but I'd avoid an all day drive into rain turning to ice/snow later in the evening - plus I'd get home and maybe be iced/snowed in for a day or so without groceries, hard to go pick up pets, etc.

WWYD? This is not my only chance to be at WDW but I don't have any other trips planned this year. I've been here a week so I think I might just head home...or I could stay through the weekend until the bad weather clears!!!!:cool1:

Stay through the weekend! Go home after the weather clears!

Enjoy!!!

I've been on vacations where you know its time to go home early for whatever reason. We ended up going home. You will know what's right for you.

I wouldn't want to drive into bad weather so much as it pains me to say this, I'd probably go home early. :sad2: That's a first - I don't think I ever have said I'd leave Disney early before.

early or late, just avoid the weather. Personally I would stay and do all those things you never do with family along. I have been in your situation before and as a passholder, was able to just hop into a park, do a couple things and move on. Rode the TTA a couple times, the kids will never let me do that if they are along. Epcot for a nice lunch, couple trips on soarin, watch off kilter a couple shows, voices of america and the big ball. All things we are usually in too much of a hurry to do. I have seen parts of the parks I never knew existed before on solo days. The other thing I have done is take one of the backstage tours. If you have never done solo days, they are a nice treat occasionally.

I would stay later! If possible - stay.

The storm isn't supposed to be bad up here *we are nj- so I am thinking it might not be as bad as you fear.

Stay!!! The weatherman has no idea what he's talking about. They've predicted snow here in Charlotte a couple of times so far this season. We've gotten didley squat. They're predicting 1 to 4 inches for this weekend. I highly doubt we'll get anything.

I would stay and come home on Sunday. W/ all the specials down there, you can find a room for fairly cheap offsite. If the storm ends up being bad, you should be able to get home Sunday. If you had to, you could also stop overnight on the road and wait until Monday.

Here in the Raleigh area, it's supposed to be so cold that I'd MUCH ratehr be dow hwere you are!

Would you rather have an extra day of sun and warmth or an extra day of snow and cold?

I would stay, but I would be hitting the parks to walk around or do something. Take your book with you and read & people watch. :thumbsup2

Stay and hit the spa at SSR - I love it there! Hot tub, massage, facial - the works :)

I just have that itch to get home, get my pets from the vet, and snuggle in.

When I planned this trip several months ago I just picked a random time period, thinking I would enjoy at least a full week, but now I think I am ready to get home. Thanks, everyone - we'll see how I feel in the morning!!

You sound like you are ready to leave. It's not a sin to get tired/bored at WDW! We have left early two times of our 20 or so trips. This past December I took my boys for a quick trip right before Christmas. We had just been on a 9 day trip w/FD in August and did everything and then some on that trip. If the December trip hadn't been a package that was paid for, we would have left a day early. Sometimes you just want to get home, and you have some good reasons.

:goodvibes That's exactly how I feel. I'm going to :goodvibes Hilton Head weekend after next and as of March 1 I have 430 DVC points to start spending (well, I can borrow 430 points from the following year - I am always in borrowing mode!):goodvibes. I can plan another trip when my family is avavilable this summer.

I always love coming to WDW but on solo trips I'm going to stay 4 or 5 days from now on instead of 9 or 10.

I'm not sure where you are in NC, but they are predicting 6-10" here in the mountains. It will most likely start as freezing rain before turning over to snow. It is supposed to be a wild weekend weather wise. If it were me, I would probably want to get home rather than be trying to get home in the mess that is predicted.

That's what I'm thinking. Even if it is better than predicted it would still be a long drive in the rain. I'm closer to the center of the state in the Piedmont but it looks like we might have at least ice and that's not what i want to be driving in at night!

I flew to Dallas to drive my aunt and grandmother for a road trip. All the way to Indiana was in the rain, and almost all the way to florida was in the rain. No ice or snow as it was october.... but it made driving miserable.

And i'm sure your doggies are missing you and wanting to get back home. Now if you had them here, I'm sure you wouldn't mind skipping out on the cold weather.

Home again! Ten hours door to door in pleasant 65 degree sunshine all the way - until I hit the NC border and followed the trucks as they were salting the roads in preparation!!

I'm glad I came home - I can go back to WDW another time but I have filled the car with gas, loaded up on the groceries, gotten some cash, and now all I have to do is pick my pets up tomorrow before the bad weather starts.

If we don't get at least 6 inches of snow I will be so miffed!!!!!!!
