Stay at BCV or BWV?

If you had to make a choice of where to stay, which would it be and why?

These were the two resorts I was considering. When it came down to it, I chose BWV for two primary reasons:

1. Being able to book at the 11 month window at a resort that has a standard room category for less points than VWL and BCV makes my points go further.
2. BWV has a lot more rooms and I feel I am more likely to get a spot at my home resort during popular times of the year - even though that may not be mathematically true, I "feel" that way.

SAB is great, but that waterslide over at BWV makes me feel more than okay with my decision. I am glad I chose where I did!

Kind of hard to make a recommendation since you don't say how many in your party, what the age range is and the interests. So without knowing anything about your requirements I'd say BWV. DW and I stayed at BVC for our last trip in May 05 and both of use weren't that impressed with the place. We're not saying this because we own at BWV (we love OKW also) it's just that BVC didn't do anything for us.

So you asked why. We like the view's offered at BWV better, from what we've see at BVC it's either the quiet pool or the service road and the back of Epcot (the road noise was worst then anything we've had at BWV). We didn't like having to walk though the lobby to get to/from SAB, just didn't like going through in wet swim ware. The room that we had at BCV was just as long, or longer, from the lobby as any room we've had at BWV.

Sorry about that. The orginal cast was myself, DW, and our two DSs (6 and almost 3) We were all ready to stay at the BCV because of SAB.

Now, it looks like it may be my mom and dad as well. I will be calling MS Monday morning to make new arrangements. We currently have a 1br booked at BCV and now I am trying to decide what to do. We really want to stay in the Epcot area. So, do I try to get a 2BR at BCV, or try to get a studio for my parents at BCV, or a 2BR at BWV. :confused3

BCV-Love the pool! Enjoy the atmosphere more than the Boardwalk, not that the pool at the BWV and the atmosphere at the BWV isn't great I just prefer one over the other. :earsgirl:

just a personal preference, I like the decor of the rooms better @ BCV. Also, SAB is prohibited from pool-hopping, so you can only use the pool at BC if you are a guest. :confused3

Either resort would probably be just fine.

Since you stated your children are fairly young, I personally think the BWV pools are much better for young children. SAB is pretty spread out. I like being able to sit on a chair near the pool and being able to see my young (good swimmer) DS at all times. Just a comfort level there.

BWV also gives you access to more restaurant options. My DS really liked watching the performers on the BW.

Ditto the less points = less money. We really liked our standard view room. It faced the bus pickup (great people watching!). We had a top floor 1 BR unit - double balcony - that overlooked a large lawn area with a tree below us. We could also see the high fireworks from Epcot.

The BWV are definatley an option as far as I am concerned. I mean really, if we want to eat at over at the BC what do a few hundred yards matter.

The part of SAB that I really liked was the shallow sand area. I think my little one will really enjoy that more than just a shallow round pool.

I really enjoy both resorts but I have to say BCV is still our favorite. I like the "hotel" feel that it has. I like the fact that at BCV everything is under one roof. They have a beautiful lobby, 2 full service restaurants and the store is there too. In the store they have added deli service, coffee, soda's, gelato ect. At BCV they also have a babysitting room (I forget the name of it), but it's availible to kids ages 4 to 12. The adults can go out to dinner and the kids can play in the babysitting room!!! My son loves it in there.

Prefer the BCV. Why? The whole atmosphere, squishy sand for under my toes, the fact that I can get fast food indoors at Beach Club Marketplace, nearness of B&C, all the indoor resting places like the Solarium, etc. I'm staying next week at BWV only because my waitlist for BCV didn't come through.

For a stay? Either are wonderful, the best two DVC resorts in my opinion. For purchase, there are other considerations. Enjoy.

I asked the same question on this board several months ago but didn't get very many responses. :confused3

We've chosen a 2BR at BCV. I had waitlisted for both BWV and BCV and had BWV come through first. I stayed on the waitlist at BCV just in case. It came through, and then we had to choose. Isn't that such a horrible choice to make? ;)

Anyway, we've stayed at BWI before but never BWV or BCV.

So, we chose BCV because:

1) We've never stayed there before and we'd already tried BWI
2) The pool sounds really neat (although we're going in late Nov/early Dec and may not be able to use it)
3) Liked the idea of being closer to EPCOT

I'm not sure when you're going but if it's for the trip that's in less than a month (judging from your ticker), I'd say waitlist at both and take whichever comes up but definitely go for a 2BR if the grandparents are coming along. ;) If both are available, go for BCV. I think your kids would really enjoy the pool.

BCV: during Spring and Summer for the SAB pool, relaxed atmosphere, being close to the Beaches 'n Cream, the buffet dinner at the Cape May, the market area, close to Epcot, the quiet pool and being able to park relatively close to our room. Smaller resort.
BWV: for Wine and Food Festival, Christmas, New Years...shorter stays, the pool because I can see all of my kids in the pool, ESPN club, standard room points (less), boardwalk, surrey bike rentals.

I own at both because I couldn't pick just one that I like better :goodvibes
