We are taking two kids (ages 7 & 4) in Oct. Last trip was very brief and we stayed at ASM. Way too low budget due to noise from school groups. Considering Wilderness Lodge, Animal Kingdom Lodge, Port Orleans (under construction?) and Caribbean Beach. Interested in hanging out at hotel one day at the pool and do some watersports. This trip will be for 5 days. Don't have many discounts avail that we can find. Wondering which would suit us the best. Concerned about the size of CBR. Don't want to tire the kids out just going o breakfast! Balconies would be great. We also have some pretty picky eaters. Are the deluxe resorts worth the extra $$?

I don't think your kids would get tired out at CBR. It depends where you stay but at most it would be a 5-10 minute to the food court and pool.

There is lots to do at CBR for the kids. I don't imagine there would be lots of school groups at AS in October.

If you were getting a discount I would tell you to try the deluxe resorts but if you are looking for a nice place to stay that I would recommend CBR.

If you need more information on CBR check out the FAQ thread listed below.

Welcome to the DIS boards.

#1 fan of Alligator Bayou -Riverside (it'll always be Dixie Landings to me) buildings 14,16,18 (18 is next to quiet pool) are about 2 minutes from food court . No balconies though. All rooms have exterior corridors. Quiet at night, charming 24/7. Have a great trip!

I think so, but others may disagree! We love WL! It is a quick boat ride to MK, they have great dining options, the atmosphere is incredible and you can rent boats right from the resort.

If your kids love animals, then AKL might be your best bet. Out those you mentioned, I like WL the best. Fort Wilderness campground is very near WL and they have a free campfire and movie every night (there is concession stand to purchase smore kits, popcorn, drinks, etc). My kids really liked the movie night.

All four resorts have their plusses but you won't find any balconies at the two moderates so you may want to go with the Wilderness Lodge or Animal Kingdom Lodge. Both of these are very nice but AKL is more isolated and as NotTooGoofy mentioned, if you stay at WL you're next to Fort Wilderness which is a definite advantage IMO.

I would have to say CBR a friend of convinced us to change our
ressies at POR because she had stayed at CBR and she two children also and she told us there are so many things for kids to do there and the more I looked into it the more I saw she was right from the beaches, they have alot more playgrounds for kids and alot of pools you can't go worng...She also said the food court is very nice there...:smooth:

Hi MICHAEL 799. We are staying at the CBR for the first time in December. I have received alot of great feedback on this resort. Safetymom has some great pictures, and you also might want to check out the video on this site on the CBR. They also have videos on the other WDW hotels. You can locate the videos on the main page under "Disney Resorts". I really don't think you can go wrong as long as you are staying inside Disney.

Have a great time. :D
