stay and scream question

The problem I've had with eating at Finnegan's during S & S is a slow wait person. We weren't released on time because we were waiting for the check and by the time we paid, there was already quite a line for the S & S house. So...I won't be eating there during S & S again.

We did Finnegan's too and had the same problem with the slow table service. We shouldn't have been surprised the place was PACKED.

I arrive at Finnegans around 3:30. By 5 I am done eating and just hanging around having some Irish beers. Quite a few...
I pay the bill by 5:20 and hang outside (drink in hand) until we are let out...

On a side note... I became a daddy friday... Will post some pics in my pre-trip report later on...

The latest a house opens is 6:30pm. The only reason I'd see why a house would open at 7pm would be because of technical difficulties.

the stay and scream is located on the studios side.


in the way past years that i am aware of, homies coming from ioa to the studios have been let in just prior to the main gate homies.

i don't remember if it was done in '10 as i had not heard from any friends that went that route last year.

each year it could be different.
those waiting to cross over from ioa, if it is allowed this year, would be released after the S & S section.

i found it easier for me to leave ioa and enter the studios by 4:30 at the latest.

others might think different.

FYI... last year we arrived at the studios gate at 4:50ish and was turned
away, they had already set up the blockcades going in.

Totally sucked, spent the next couple of hours at Cigarz and was
really relaxed we went in.

I think they got rid of the S & S area at IOA a few years ago and I always tell people to be in the park no later than 4:30pm for S & S at the Studios.

that's why i said way back when i last was aware of it.

no one i talked to last year came from ioa prior to the studios before 5.


like metro said, be in the studios a good 1/2 before it closes to the public.

i went at 4:50 one time and it was frustrating but i did get in.

the frustrating time i did that was back in '06 and never waited that long again..



the metal detectors were set up early and they were not allowing peeps to enter the park.

i had walked around them and keep walking when the TM told me to stop.

i had the ap so ticket wise, i was good to enter the park before 5:00.


the cop on duty held me back from going any further.



a group of hell benders pushed past me and the cop and refused to stop.
so....................
the cop went after them and i ran like hell around the corner.

i got in but i never did go late to the park after that.


tricky1, nice to hear you did enjoy yourself waiting for the later opening.
if i had gone to Cigarz, i would have missed hhn.....

Based on the schedules in past years, I would beeline for the Jaws house (Saws & Steam this year???) as soon as you finish the soundstage houses. That one always tends to be busy, I think because its lonely position and the Bill & Ted crowds. After that, if you double back to Disaster house, it still shouldn't be that busy, just leaves the tent houses and parade building, which take a lot longer to build up lines.

As long as you get the house in the Jaws queue completed BEFORE THE FIRST BILL AND TED SHOW you'll be safe/have a short line (if any). Once the show finishes, that house ALWAYS has a 60+ minute wait until the end of the night. Every night.

Nope, it would have been the worst possible time to mention THAT.. to her... I will, next weekend...
