Status on water bottles at this point?

Anybody there now or recently, who can let us know if they are letting water bottles in? Also, if they are not, do they allow you to bring in an empty bottle that you can fill inside the park?

From everything I heard, the general water bottle ban only lasted 3 or 4 days and at this point you are allowed to bring water botttles back into the park. That being said, certain hard ticket events line Gradbash and HHN have never allowed water bottles (although for HHN the checks and metal detectors begin in the evening).

I was there during the water bottle crackdown a few weeks back, and again about a week ago. It is gone.

Most said Mardi Gras. I say it's no coincidence that it started when they were filming Sharknado 3, with the stars, there at Universal.

We were there Mar 5 to Mar 12th. We had no issues bringing in water or snacks. Now, Mar 7 was a Mardi Gras event date. based on what I had read here, I was anticipating problems and huge lineups through security - but there were none. I did not bring water, just in case, but I think we would have been fine, if we did.
