so what is the status of the pool area at the DLH hotel?

Will it be done by March 2012?

I have tried to find info and I get bogged down with reading really long threads...LOL!

Pool is planned to be done by 2012(all hotel construction as well). It will probably be wrapped up for Christmas time this year.

So for next Spring, have no worries, just enjoy the new pool.

The CM on the phone when I made ressie for DLH said that it should be done for the holidays - around the middle of Nov. Of course, because I am going the beginning of Nov!

I'll be there the end of October before going on a Disney cruise. I wonder if I should move my reservation to Disney's Grand Californian? The reviews on Trip Advisor are really poor for the DLH due to the construction. I have a room facing the park reserved.

I was there last week and noticed that it was really getting along. They had a few smaller pool areas about done and the monorail slide looked complete to me. I am not sure if they are ahead or behind schedule though.

I'm pretty sure, through observations of what has happened and gone on in the site that it's on schedule. The rooms look well along, and all the big stuff with the pool grounds is done.

The new big pool is mostly dirt now, but it may be according to concept drawing retaining the same foot print. This mean the plumbing for the pool may be totally retained and less work to be done.

You can see what the whole pool area looks like in the top post of this link. It's a fairly relevant thread to a couple new posts that came up yesterday.

It's coming along, getting around DLH yesterday was a pain!! The huge statue in the front was gone, if I had paid to stay there this week I would have been really bummed, there are a lot of walls up. They were beginning to pour the concrete for the remaining pool area yesterday (it's a huge area) the newer pools/slides are all open.

Wait, the huge Mickey statue is gone? Is that the huge statue you're talking about?

There were walls up :( we didn't see it, going to Goofy's for dinner 2nite, I will ask about it.

Oh thank you so much, I'd really appreciate it. My children have *no* idea we are staying at the DLH (in less than a month!)--but they LOVE seeing that big Mickey statue from the Disneyland Express bus. When he was 2.5, my little boy saw that statue and yelled "Me found Dih-nee-lahn!!" and everyone in the front of the bus laughed and applauded. I don't know if they'll recognize the DLH without the big Mickey statue!

I just returned from finishing up my stay just a few hours ago and I'm finally home. I stayed my last night (Friday) at the DLH and was in the newly named Adventure tower. We took a family break mid afternoon at the pool and monorail slides and was told by everyone we asked that the remaining pool would be opened in Nov 2011. They were working on it into the night from what I saw and there's a lot of work going on everywhere. The Fantasy tower was getting work done to the front lower section and workers were putting up temporary walls and painting them.

I hate to be the one to break the bad news, but I saw it damaged behind a construction wall just two nights ago and my wife was the one to point it out. On Wednesday when I went Steakhouse 55 to eat dinner, we took a family photo by it. The next day I saw damage done to the right arm when it was obviously moved.

OH NO!! :( I'm so sad--that statue is the start of Disney memories for my family and yet we've never had a picture with it...this trip was supposed to be our chance. :( I hope my little boy doesn't cry when he sees that Mickey is gone.

I appreciate your update...even though I am very disappointed by the news.
