I can't take it anymore!<a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/4_2_3.gif' border=0></a> What is the deal with all this static!?!<a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/4/4_12_2.gif' border=0></a>

I know, I know, winter-time, dry air and all that. But there must be a cure for this. My clothes are sticking to me, my jacket sticks to my clothes, I keep getting shocked and I keep shocking my poor little baby, <a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/4/4_11_7.gif' border=0></a> and PLEASE don't even get me started about my hair.<a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/4/4_2_204.gif' border=0></a> When I went to the grocery store last night I was a nervous wreck<a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/4/4_6_104.gif' border=0></a>, every thing I touched zapped<a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/16/16_6_12.gif' border=0></a> me.

Is there an end to this madness? Does anyone know of a good trick to stop this stuff? I think I'm actually manufacturing static as I live and breathe.

StaticGuard spray works wonders for me . . .it's my best friend in the Winter . . .

I spray some on my clothes and even on my chair at work . . .although I cannot stand how it smells, at least I'm not getting electrocuted everytime I get up from my desk . . .

Try it out . . .Wish they would make something to spray on the cats . . .
:p

LOL, me too! Last night I went to take my PJ's of in the dark and I looked l ike a fire cracker!! I'm glad there wasn't anything flammable nearby!

Static Guard works for a little while, but I don't think it lasts all day.

I use static guard on my cats all the time.
I brush my cats with a brush that I have sprayed with static guard. I have to refresh the brush with each cat but it makes them less "charged" so I don't suffer or cause them to suffer when I pet them

I have terrible problems with static myself, there was another post on this board where I went into detail so I won't do that again.

Today on the news they did a little thing on ways to prevent static. They made the following suggestions:
1. Get a humidifier. The static is due to the dryness in the room. It is almost nill in the summer when the air is humid.
2. Use moisturizer on dry skin especially hands. The mosturizer keeps hands moist and decreases the dryness that causes static.
3. Use spray on static reducer or spritz yourself with water especially hair, 3 or 4 times a day. I don't think I would do that before going outside in the - temperatures.
4. Don't wear shoes that aid in building up static. They said leather soled shoes are best and some rubber products are the worst. I notice I get more shocks when I wear my airsteps with the black foam type rubber soles than when I wear my sneakers.
I have tried all of the above and it doesn't help me. Hope it can help others Peggie
