Stateroom question...

We're currently book on the Magic in cabin 6560. My question is whether our door will face directly into the elevator area (and therefore could possibly be a noise problem), or if it's far enough down that our open door will face a wall. I can't really tell from the diagram in my brochure. Does anyone know?

On our first cruise, we were in room 7044, also right by the elevators but facing a wall. We didn't have any noise problems at all.

As an aside...what happened to the search function? Was it turned off to help with the performance of the boards or for some other reason? Just curious!

Hi Jet-

We were in stateroom 6562 on our Jan. cruise and loved this location. Our door was facing a wall and I think 6560 was too-- may be right on the edge of the wall and the elevator entrance. Either way we thought this was the best location on the ship. We never had a problem with noise and loved being right off the stairwell. Makes it very easy to run back to your room and very convenient to the kids clubs. I wish I could ask for this location on my Oct. cruise but they won't give me a stateroom number, only a Cat. 6 guarantee.

Jet- I saw you stayed in room 7044 on your last cruise. It is our stateroom for our April cruise that's swiftly approaching. I'm glad to hear it is quiet. I was a bit concerned, due to the proximity to the midship elevators. Does 7044 have the 4th pull down bunk/berth? My DD loved sleeping in it on our last cruise & I wasn't sure 7044 had it. I called DCL and they said they think so, but it wasn't a definite...

Thanks! Linda :)

I think I read the search engine was shut down due to the technical problems they've been having lately. It's an enormous data base. With so many people on these boards, I'm sure the servers are not happy campers!

dianthus, yes, 7044 does have the pull down bed. It's an awesome cabin in every way - great location and very quiet. You'll love it!

Also, I'm glad to hear 6562 was a good spot. Thanks, MNmom!
