Tried to search, but couldn't find what I was looking for. I am planning to book a stateroom for 5 on the Disney Wonder for summer 2022. Based on what I have found, the options are limited if I want to stay in one room, which I do. If I want to have a verandah, it seems like it would be limited to deck 8 (is that correct?), which would be under the pools. Does anyone have recommendation as to which rooms might be better if I get a choice?

Looking at the two 7-night itineraries, the only difference is Skagway vs Icy Strait Point. Which port is better for someone who has never been to Alaska? TIA.

Honestly I would pick Skagway. It is and was an actual town. ISP was developed by RCCL specifically to be a port stop and it feels like it. If I am ever stuck on a cruise going there again it will be a ship day for sure.

Definitely the itinerary with Skagway. Tons to do there and it's the gateway to the Yukon. We did a Yukon rail/bus tour with dog cart ride through Chilkoot Charters and it was the highlight of our Alaskan trip!

Sorry, no advice on rooms, we're a family of 4 and stay in oceanview on deck 2.

No advice on rooms but we loved Deck 8. We stayed right in the middle of the boat and thought it was the perfect location.

I would pick Skagway, and our room was Deck 8 and midship starboard. Never had a problem with noise from the pool or hallway. We chose starboard to avoid smoke floating down from the port side smoking section on glacier day.

If you choose Skagway, I highly recommend excursion that includes the White Pass Railway and the tour up to the Yukon Territory.

We had a veranda midship on Deck 7 and loved it!

Choose any of the rooms 8000-8012 or 8500-8512. You will be under the spa and sleep like in a tomb.

Skagway is our fav Alaskan port. I wish they did an overnight stop in the port - there is so much to do.
