If booking a GTY IGT when are rooms usually assigned? 25 days out and we still don't know our cabin number

At any point. Could even be at the port.

For the December 30th sailing, we got our assignment on Dec. 17. It seems it's not done all at the same time because other GTY cabins were assigned a few days before us, starting on the 14th.

I think it tends to be within the last 2-3 weeks for a *GT booking. Regular-rate GTY rooms get assigned a little earlier. But as PP says, it can be anytime even right up until you check-in at the port.

we found out about 2 weeks in advance. DCL told us it would be 1 week, so we were surprised when we found out our room. We thought that we would not like it, but it was a great location. Just way different than our normal deck 2 experience.

*GT rooms tend to be assigned around 10-14 days out, usually on a Tuesday. But, as with all guarantee rooms, can happen at any time between original booking date all the up to, and including, embarkation day.
