State testing

I remember the FCAT test... I lived in Florida for almost a year and every day on the morning news show, we'd have some sort of FCAT practice question. I never had to take that test, though...

Nope. PACT test (SC state test). I was in the only grade who had to take it all eight years. (As soon as I was in third grade, they changed it to grades 3-8 instead of 1-8, and then this year they eliminated the PACT test... now they're doing the PASS test, which is basically the same thing. The middle schoolers and I suppose elementary school kids also MAPs test. The teachers prefer it because it's instant feedback - by the time PACT results got back, we were halfway through the next grade!)

Anywho, the only state test we have in high school is the HSAP which is what determines whether or not you can graduate. That's administered in tenth grade. If you don't pass, you try and try again. (If you don't pass you're first try, you are an idiot - it tests 8th grade math and English!)

This week for all ohio sophomores and freshman are the OGT's. Ohio Graduation Tests. Freshman take a practice one and sophomores take it for the real deal. If they don't pass certain ones this time around they just take that one over again. Thankfully I'm a junior so I don't have to be at school until 10:16 am all week!

Today i took the SATS the worst 5 hours ever spent in a school.


We have STAR test in April.

Which is what there called here in california

I took the last part of the ACTs/MME on Thursday.
It definatly kicked my butt, I takes alot of energy out of you.
3 days of 4 1/2 hours of testing, then going back to classes after...definatly not fun.
But it's all over, and I think I did pretty good. I was nervous as heck though.

I've taken pretty much every bubble test offered in the state of New Hampshire. The only one I didn't take was the ACT.

Between the ones I took in elementary and junior high that's enough alone to last me a life time. But no. For some reason, my class got slammed with tests.

We took a state test my freshman year, then an accredidation based test my sophomore year, junior year is always NECAPS, and then this year we took the NAEPs.

And I took the SAT twice, four SATIIs, the ASVAB, and an AP exam. And I'm looking at taking two more AP exams this spring.

My contempt for bubble tests cannot be expressed through language.

AP exams are hell on earth. I took the APUSHE and was blown away. I got a 3, though so I'm not complaining. I'm just saying, I BSed my way through the major required essay! It was on the social, political, and economic effects of the Vietnam war. But, my class wasn't slated to start that unit until the week after I took the exam! I was dying of panic inside.

So. Make sure you study. A lot. AP examps are worse than the SATs by faaaar.
