I am watching the NBC coverage and Tom Brokaw is doing the commentary. He was talking with Regans SS man who spent the last years with him. He just told a story of how he had to break the news to President Regan that due to his illnes progression, he could no longer ride his horses. The story was so moving, I am bawling! To think to have done some many things and been so many places and not remember makes me want to live every moment like tomorrow won't be here. Corny, I know, but this is very moving!

I heard the same story. I felt so sorry for the poor gentleman. I think he was the only one able to ride a horse, so he was chosen as the designated rider to accompany Regan.

Oy, I am tearing up as they are singing America The Beautiful! I haven't cried like this since they sang it on September 11th, or at the American Pavilion!

Most definitely a beautiful rendition of the song. I love patrotic songs.

For some reason I feel so drawn to watch this. I think it is because back in 1981 I was home on medical leave (with a broken ankle) and watched his swearing in ceremony. I also was watching the day he was shot. Seems to have come full circle now watching him be honored in Washington one last time.

I have been watching for 3 hours. I loved Reagan, and am in awe of the strength, dignity and class of Nancy. I am so very glad I got to make a trip to DC, albeit brief.

What a great love Reagan and Nancy had...so beautiful. It rips me up to see her sitting there looking so alone.

*sniff*

OMG, seeing her at the coffin. They did love deeply...they were very blessed. I think I need to head to bed soon...LOL. :(

I was doing okay until I saw Mrs. Regan stroking the flag on the coffin...she looks so sad and alone! She seemed so much in love with him, and seems so alone but so strong! Broke me up!

Very moving ceremony. I kept having black and white flashbacks to JFK's funeral. So many things to remind those of us who were alive back then.

The rendition of America was magnificent and Mrs. Reagan has shown grace and courage during a very long and difficult day.

Just one other thing... I have given a lot of thought to the brave people on Flight 93. Although we'll never know for sure, one of the apparent targets was the US Capitol. Because of their selfless determination, that symbol of our country stands today. We will forever be in their debt.

It is breaking my heart also.

They were a rare couple, Ronnie and Nancy. They had a real love that few find in this lifetime. As horrible as tha pain must be, I am sure she would never trade the experience of human love that was so deep and so true.

I don't mean for this to sound horribe. But, now that he is at rest, I wonder how long it will be until she joins him?

I've spent 10 years with DH and can't imagine tomorrow without him. I can't imagine her pain.

I bawled too....wish I could be there to show my respect to President Reagan, Mrs. Reagan.

5 years tops.

I was never a huge fan of either of them, but there is just something about her that makes me so sad. She looks so alone and when she was stroking the flag on the coffin you could see she was talking to him. My heart breaks for her. I was also crying when she got out of her limo when they transfered the casket to the caisson and the crowds cheered for her and were yelling to her. It was very moving...she is a very strong lady.

I couldn't stop crying either. Once Nancy was on the way out, did you see Michael bend over and kiss the casket? Made me lose it all over again!

I couldn't help but feel that although Nancy must feel honored, in some way, she'd like to have things a little more personal. I'm sure she'll have plenty of alone time (I hope anyway), but I just came away feeling we were invading on her in some way. She truly is an amazing lady.
