Our state fair starts this week. Ride tickets are $10 per sheet of 18 in advance, $18 at the fair. Kiddie rides take 2-4 tickets, adult rides are 4-6. So one sheet will get you maybe 4 kiddie rides or 3 adult rides.

For DS who is 3 1/2 I bought 3 sheets. 2 wasnt enough for us last year.

Some of my Mommy group friends are questioning my advice to buy at least 2 sheets per child. One Mommy doesnt understand why one sheet per child isnt enough.

I guess it's possible that I am overly indulgent. But DS has no fear and will ride anything (you should have seen him at WDW in May :) ).

So - if it were you and you had little kids, how many tickets would you buy?

When we went to our County Fair last time, our sons went on about 5-6 rides or so. They wanted to stay longer, but we felt it was enough for that day. We also did the petting zoo (lots of hand sanitizer), looked at the livestock area, and looked at some of the vendors. Next year, I want to add the pony rides to our list, but we'll probably stick to about 6-7 rides or so.

lecach, When I took my two daughters (7 and 5) to the NC State fair last year, we used two sheets each. Would 3 sheets be out of the question? Not at all. It depends on what you like to do when you are there and how long you are staying.

Believe me, we could have used another sheet; I just chose not to buy any more. I couldn't take another trip on the spinning strawberries!

I bought figuring 2 sheets per child. I know for sure we will use at least 1 1/2 if we ride like last year...if we don't use them all...I just spread the magic at the NC state fair! I can't wait!!!! :cool1: I admit I get as excited about the fair as I do about WDW!

We'll miss it this year since our trip to WDW is November 3. I didn't think that I would mind missing it until I found this thread....

Someone eat some of that yummy NCSU ice cream for me!

Do they have unlimited ride bands? Our state fair and a local fair at my mom's offer these. Also look around for discount coupons off tickets too. I think as far as how many rides you let your little one ride is up to your discretion. I am an over indulgent parent so I spoiled my kiddos. They are only little once so do what your heart tells you to do in reguards to how many tickets. Have a blast!!!! We just had our Virginia State Fair and it was nice... Very organized and clean....

Have fun!

There is only one day that offers the unlimited ride thing and I think that is the opening day? Not sure. The only discounts we really have in NC are to buy in advance. We save $8 per sheet of tickets and I think a dollar off admission.

The unlimited ride bands are on Thursday (tomorrow). They start at 3:00 p.m. and are $25.

My office sold the advance tickets at the corporate rate (companies with enough employees are allowed to do this - no charge to the company, and they dont make anything either). Ride sheets were $10 per sheet of 18 tickets ($18 at the fair). Entry tickets for ages 13-64 were $4.75 each ($7 at the fair). Kids ages 6-12 were $1 ($2 at the fair).

So my whole thing was that I think most kids would need 2 sheets. In advance that would be $20. At the fair it would be $36. That's a pretty good savings. I cant imagine only letting my son ride 4 rides which is what you'd get with 1 sheet. But that's just me. I have a feeling that my Mommy group friends that only bought 1 sheet of tickets will be buying more at the fair for full price.

I personally wouldn't buy any-2.50 for a kiddie ride is too much.
