Starwood SPG Amex - can Canadians apply?

Was reading on the Starwood Preferred Guest site that there is a SPG Amex that gives SPG points as well as has a bonus of 10000 points the first time you use it, and the poitns would be good enough for a night at the Swan or Dolphin (I think).

However when applying it only leaves room for a US address. When going to their link for Canadians, it directs me only to the general Amex site for Canadians.

Has anyone in Canadian applied for and received the SPG Amex?

I'd be surprised if we could. As far as I know the only Starwood option for Canadians is through MBNA.

I could be wrong.

It's a great credit card. No annual fee, with good rewards.

Beware - it does not offer any trip insurance (ie lost baggage, rental car insurance, etc). You can get it, but it is an extra fee.

I like that you can opt in to the extra insuance, but it is not required (saves me money !)

They also have a great website, to help track your purchases (real time updates with purchases).
