We have never redeemed any of our points. If we continue to stay at Starwood hotels, will we continue to add points to those we already have, or do you automatically lose your points in a certain amount of time? I'm embarrased to admit that I have never even checked, so I have no idea how many we have earned. If we've lost any, I wouldn't know it. Reading posts about people having free stays has gotten me more interested in the program. I love free! TIA

If you know your Starwood Preferred Guest number, you can go to www.spg.com and create an online account. There you can check on all the points you've earned and read all the "fine print" about the program. Good luck!

according to flyertalk as long as you continue to earn points ( ie starwood amex)
you should noty lose your points.

You need to make one qualified purchase per year to keep your points active. If not, you will lose all points accumulated. This is done on a calendar year basis. A qualified purchase is a stay at a hotel (although priceline stays, hotwire stays, even their own website INTERNET rates don't count) or if you eat in one of their restaurants and give them your card. That counts too.
