A New York law firm, Brager Wexler Eagel & Morgenstern, has filed a class-action suit against Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide seeking damages of at least $100 million. The suit alleges that Starwood improperly charged a resort fee to customers at its hotel brands from March 1, 1999, through Feb. 28, 2002. The complaint alleges that Starwood failed to disclose the resort fee at the time of reservation, or misrepresented the fee as a tax thorugh its Web site and res number. The suit seeks to reimburse all guests affected, plus punitive damages.
