Hello!

I'm a frequent DLR visitor in CA and next spring (April 2013) for my 30th birthday I'm taking a solo (leaving my DH and son behind) trip to Paris! I've been to Paris once before in my late teens and fell in love with the city so I've decided what better way to celebrate my birthday than going to a city I love and getting to explore some more!

Now onto my questions.

I've looked at the sticky's on the main page but I'm not finding the same kind of information I'm used to finding in the DLR pages.

Where can I find information on the Disneyland Paris Express? I will be staying in Paris in an apartment so I thought this would be a good way to get to DLP? Am I wrong? Is there a better option, maybe just taking the train?

I am only going to be spending one day at DLP, I'm not sure if it is better to only explore one park or both or should I just see how things go? I don't plan on eating at any sit down restaurants as I'm more interested in seeing the parks.

Also, April... is there any information in a thread about how busy I can expect the parks to be at certain times of the year? Or is there a thread about past hours? Is it similar to DLP in that when the hours are shorter they are expecting less guests? Are there certain days of the week that are better to visit than others? (I assume weekends are busy).

I think that's all for now, I've looked at the DLP official website and I read in another thread about buying the unofficial guide so I might try that as well.

Thanks in advance for all of your help! I cannot wait to experience DLP!

Hi and welcome

There isnt a disneyland Paris Express which is why you cant find information. There is a VEA shuttle bus from the airport to DLP but not from the centre of Paris.
There is however the RER train (like an extension of the metro) which goes right to the parks (Marne la Vallee station) its on RER line A and there are about 4 stations on this line in central Paris - whereabouts is your appartment and we can help you work out which station is easiest to get to

Weekends are busier and it will be worth checking when school holidays are around that time - there is a thread in the useful info sticky which lists holiday dates for different areas

If you can do both parks it will be worth it - they are like DL right next to each other.

If you have a look here they have archives of park hours although they are advertising longer park hours this year so the parks should be open longer:goodvibes

Hmm strange because while on the paris info website I came across a link to this website http://www.disneylandparis-express.com/ it shows that they are now offering a shuttle service which is why I was curious. Has anyone used this or have any experience with it?

Apologies Ive never heard of that shuttle - Looking at the link I think its quite new. Ive never heard of anyone of here mention it

These buses are not Disney run, it's an independant tour company which is why it doesn't come up under DLP info

I see that they also work with Foxity

Their day in Paris is way expensive - You can do a tour with Foxity for 14€ for an adult and a Mobilis 1-5 zone travel pass with acces to all RER/Bus/Metro and tram routes for the day is 14,20€ so 28,20€ instead of 45€

Same with the day at DLP - 14,20€ on the RER and you'd get there faster than on the bus for the opening, as on the bus you'd be in rush hour traffic.
Tickets can be had for 43€ 1day/2 parks so 58€ instead of 86€

:)

Thanks for the info that's very helpful! I suppose I'll just take the RER there as you've suggested.

Thanks for flagging up this service.

Hopefully some DISers will have first hand experience so that they can share it with the board :goodvibes

Hi, I've just realised you are looking for April 2013 :lmao:

I was going to link you tickets for this year but it's way to early to reserve next years.

Hopefully the 20th anniversary celebrations will run on as the 15th did and you'll get to see lots of new and exciting things.

:goodvibes

I've noticed this in the new brochure, but going the other way from Disney to Paris for a day trip.

It's called Paris Essentials and includes a short tour of Paris on an open top bus and then free time to explore, before bringing you back to Disney.

Departs and returns to NPB or Dream Castle - 10am/11am - 6pm/7pm and costs £39 for adults and £24 for children.

On the question regarding parks and time. I suppose it depends on how much of each park you want to do and if your really hot on doing the altered attractions at Magic Kingdom. Personally I think for everyone the actual Magic Kingdom is a day long park. Studios is more a half day, maybe less - unless you are really keen on riding Crush's coater :lmao:

(That said by 2013 the Ratatoullie ride might be open which might help Studios too. It does have some great attractions and shows)

Seriously though, personally I would just do Magic Kingdom, then spend whatever spare time you have checking out Disney Village and Hotels. 2 Parks might be a bit much for a 1 day trip, no reason to make it stressful (and it's always a good excuse for you to come back! ; ))

Also on the case of busy times, April is the month DLP picks to change it's celebration/theme for the year - normally people try to go January to March when DLP sells trips off cheap. It might be slightly more busy due to the theme change (If they bother changing the 20th celebration, its quite possible they continue it next year to give Ratatoullie some fanfare to its opening) - but it won't be anywhere as busy as it can be in Summer/Christmas : ). Try to avoid weekends if possible and you should be fine! You should find most rides are open too
