Starting to get nervous. iPod Nano question.

DH is big music fan and I have purchased an iPod Nano as a surprise for Christmas. I confess, I know very little about it. DH has all of his CD's converted to MP3 files that he listens to on his palm pilot when he flies. Will he be able to transfer these to the Nano or will they have to be reformatted? Is this a complicated process or does it require special accessories? I know he will want to start playing with it as soon as he opens and I'd like to go ahead and purchase any extra items that he may need. Thanks in advance.

Everything you need will be in the box.
The software that ipods use is itunes. MP3 files can be copied onto itunes and the software will transform them into the correct format for the ipod.

Yep you have to have Itunes with that you can import all the mp3's then using Itunes transfer the mp3's into the Ipod.

Your DH will love his gift! As soon as you install the software that comes with it, you can transfer the files on your computer to ITunes.

One accessory you may want to get is the FM transmitter so you can listen to the Nano on your car stereo or your home stereo system.

We got one for DD this Christmas; I cannot wait to see her face when she opens the box!

Just wanted to add that if the MP3's are already on your computer they will AUTOMATICALLY be brought into iTunes when the program is installed. Any mp3's that he downloads after that will have to be manually entered in, but the manual will tell him how to do that.

To manually load them in just double click on the file and it automatically goes into iTunes.
