Welcome to the planning process! It's nice to have another non-hetero couple on here; we're having our "DFTCC" (Disney Fairy Tale Commitment Ceremony) in June.
I imagine you'll have a more difficult time with name changing than we did. Both of our parents made the assumption long ago that we'd give up our birth names when we got married, and I had already informed my parents that I didn't need any patriarchal surname when I could create my own. Thus, DF and I made up our own last name. When my little brother finds his partner, though, I think my family would strongly object to any name-changing because he's the only boy and he's supposed to "carry on the family name." Too bad he's a one-man gay pride parade.
