Starting Pandora Bracelet -- How Much $ Should Be Set Aside?

Hi, all!

So my family's first trip to Disney World is coming up (40 day mark today!), and one of the things I've been wanting to buy for a while is a Pandora bracelet with Disney charms.

So my main question is, how much should I be expecting to spend? I figured I'd be getting a bracelet and a couple charms, but I don't know which ones I would want (most likely would be wanting to get a few mickey/minnie charms), and is there an optimum amount that one should get at first to start fillling it? I don't plan on filling it completely on one trip (pretty sure I'd go broke that way.)

My absolute max to spend on the bracelet is probably going to be five hundred, but ideally I'd like to spend less than that.

TIA!

It all depends on what you'd like to spend. If you go to DisneyStore.com, there is a Disney Parks Merchandise tab, or enter Pandora in the search and you can see a lot of what is available. If you would like a Disney bracelet for your charms, I think they are $80 or $85, and charms start at $35 and go up from there.

I spent around $350 for my basic Pandora bracelet and 4 Disney charms. I went for the plain Pandora clasp on the bracelet as I didn't feel it was worth an extra $20 or so for the Disney clasp.

You can buy as many or few charms as you want to start, so it's really up to you. Although the price of various charms varies, I'd say to set aside $150 for a bracelet and one charm. It could be a little more if you pick an expensive charm, or could be less, but that's a good ballpark. Check the web site though, as mentioned above. The prices there are accurate.

I'm a little Pandora-obsessed, but I only like to buy charms one at a time so that each represents a certain trip, birthday, etc. (I'm dorky enough that I have a Disney Pandora bracelet and a non-Disney one). But whatever way you want to go at it!

I buy a park exclusive while I am there. I can buy any of the others at a jewelers or the pandora store at home. It really depends on what you want to spend on a charm. When I first got my bracelet a few years ago most of the charms were $25. Now you can't find any for that price. My DH and DS's bought me the bracelet and 3 charms for my birthday that is how I started. I have added to them for Christmas and birthdays and when I go to Disney. You can go to the disneyparks site or the official pandora site to see what is available.

Also check the Pandora website to see if your local Pandora stores are running any special promos. Sometimes with the purchase of two or three charms you can receive a free bracelet (at least a $55 value). Then, purchase park exclusives when you are in the park as PP suggested.

Thanks everyone! Hoping to be able to pick up a couple at least, since this is probably a once in a while trip.

Also, another question.

Can i use my Disney Visa to get a discount on these any longer? I thought I read somewhere that you can't, but I haven't seen it since.

You also should think about clip beads and a safety and how they factor into your budget. I have two bracelets--one started at Disneyland and one started at a Pandora store. Both times I bought a bracelet there was significant pressure to purchase two clip beads and a safety chain at the same time. Depending on what you choose, each clip bead can run from $25-95 (with the Mickey & Minnie clips running $70 each). A safety chain will cost anywhere from $40-115. I believe the Disney park exclusive safety chain is $75.

So, a starter package of a bracelet, 2 clip beads and a safety chain can cost anywhere from $205 ($65 basic bracelet, two $25 clips and a $40 safety chain) to $400. It can go even higher if you want any of the items that have gold or rose gold accents.

To do a basic Disney branded set you are looking at $85 for the bracelet, two clip beads at $70 each and $75 for a safety chain, which totals out to $300 before you buy any other charms.

For the park exclusive charms - where in the parks do they sell them? Are there more than one park exclusive charms, or just one? Are there any pictures of the ones available now? I'm thinking of getting my daughter a Disney bracelet for her 16th birthday (in April) - we're taking a Sweet 16 trip in August, so I figured I'd give the bracelet now, and then she can get a park exclusive charm in August. But I'm thinking of going with a color scheme for her bracelet, and I want to see if the park exclusive charms would fit in with that.

I bought my bracelet at Mouse Gear using one of those 20% off coupons they would give you for eating at a counter service in busy times.
