Stitch good for you on Cardio 2. Really hard or just hard?

Minnie, so sorry to hear about your daughter. I hope Physical Therapy helps. I'll be thinking all of the good thoughts that I can for her. My youndest son was a soccer player and in his Junior year in high school he had two grade 3 concussions, six months to the day apart from each other. A nighmare plain and simple. He no longer plays, we can't take the chance of a 3rd. But, we know exactly what you are going through. This was devastating for Josh, he had planned to play in college.

Now, on a posititve note, he is a Sophmore in college and thinking about transferring and was just accepted at Florida State! :cool1: Really fun for him but we are in NY and right now he is about 45 minutes from home. FL is far! I'm not sure what he will do but its always fun to have choices!

Did Cardio1 tonight. Was supposed to do #3 but just didn't get that far. I will do it tomorrow and get back on the right schedule.

Well, thats it I am so ready for bed tonight.

Finished disc 5. Focused on my form. My resistance band is almost too short for the moves.

Hmmmm..... do you know if they make bands longer? Do you think it might be worth looking into, or were you able to do the moves with the correct form?

DD's session went really well. He worked her over big time. It really hurt while he was working on her but now she has pretty good movement in her back. She feels better this morning. The PT gave us much more hope than the doctor did about being able to get back to track yet this season. I sure hope so. It is definitely the sport she enjoys the most! Thanks for the thoughts!

I am so sorry to hear about your son's experience. You certainly did the right thing in protecting him! That is sooo scary!

Injuries stink! We have had way too much in the past few months. My DD is on the varsity basketball team. They were ranked #1 in state all season. They were undefeated all season. Then one torn ACL, two torn ACL, 2 broken fingers, one strained MCL and two stress fractures. And believe it or not, they were still winning. The closet team to them was a 15 point difference. They even set the school record for most points scored in a game (87).

And then comes substate. Won the first game very easily. In the first 4 minutes of the second game, the worst happened. Another torn ACL. NO WAY! They went on to win that game but now we have 3 of our starters out for the season. Unfortunately, they lost the championship game by 4 points. They just didn't have time to recover from the devastating injury the night before. I have never been so sad for a group of wonderful girls.

In the end the team that beat our girls went on to win state. The crazy thing is that we played them twice in the regular season and beat them by 20+ points each time. We also beat 3 of the other teams that made it to state playoffs. It really has been hard to take and it has been though for the girls to get over it. I am especially sad for the seniors...

Anywho.... I'm glad to hear that your son is doing well in college. FL would be fun for college. It is great so see our kids live their life, but at the same time, kind of sad to see them go.

We are actually heading to Engineering Days with my DD this morning. She's really starting to be interested in heading that route! It is so exciting to see what path she will choose. So far, she had really done a great job with her life and has a ton of doors open for her. Now she just needs to look around and see what's out there!

Boy, have I been lazy today. Went to the Public Market with a friend this morning and thats all. I have done NOTHING! Sometimes I think thats what we need. Or at least that sounds pretty good to me. I will go downstairs and excercise in a minute. We are going to go out for a bite to eat and I will excercise before we go.

Minnie-enjoy your engineering day. Sounds like fun! We have seen the sports injuries, too. What a shame for the whole team who has worked so hard as a team to get to the top. Just a bummer however you look at it.

Also-I know I have those stretchy things that look more like a scarf than the bands but they are nice and long. They have enough resistence for what we are doing.

Hmmm.... I think I have some of those kind of bands somewhere.... need to take a look.

Well, I danced and sang like crazy for 2.5 hours at a Jimmy Buffett concert last night. That's got to count for something, right?

I think I am finally on the mend. Man, being sick stunk!

Tomorrow I am going to jump right in to week two and hit the Kick Start food plan again. I am really excited (which is kind of weird). I guess I just can't wait to feel good again!

We went and saw Jersey Boys at the 2:00 Matinee today. Stopeed for abite to eat after and it was a nice Sunday. I am going down to do cardio right now and will start week 3 with disc 3 tomorrow. And, tomorrow I will get this eating under control!!!!! It hasn't been real bad but there is room for lots of improvement. Kickstart doesn't sound like a bad idea at all.

I'm bummed that I am falling behind both of you. Oh well, I just really need to get started again. I'm hoping kick start will get me off to a good start again.

Minnie, your doing great! You are losing way more weight than me and you do lots of extra excercising than me. I'm afraid to get on the scale!!! All right, excercising done, shower done, drank tea and now its time to go to bed.

Jersey Boys was good, I saw it the last time they were here but my DH hadn't so we went. It was a nice day!

Hi Girls,

Hope you are all having a great day! Well, his may end up being my rest day. I didn't sleep at all last night and I am exhausted. I just drank a cup of coffee hoping I can get my excercise in. It is a miserable, miserable day here. Snow and rain all day long. It's cold and blowing and damp and just plain yucky. A great night to put on pj's and a bathrobe and make a big cup of tea.

Today was great. I finally felt normal!:cool1:
Started the day with Workout 1. Felt good (no balance but that's nothing new).
Went on a lunch hour power walk with my bud. Beautiful day here! Don't you think it's a little late for snow?

Now I am off to my semi final volleyball game. Let's hope we pull it off. We have struggled this season but tonight feels good!

I hope that all goes well with your back. Back problems stink! Let's hope it's good news. Keep us posted!
 
Hi Everyone!!!

I started the 7 day quick start today. So far so good. Did OK with Workout 1 - have trouble standing on one foot!!! I had the yogurt for breakfast, salmon salad for lunch, steak for dinner, hummus & veggies for a snack. My problem is going to be getting the cardio in. I work afternoons/nights so I don't get home until midnight. I guess I will just have to do it then. I am usually up till at least 2 am. I just don't want to wake myself up too much!!!

I bought a new bathing suit at Kohl's yesterday - It is tight, very tight - but hopefully by August it will fit. I have it hanging in my kitchen near the fridge to remind myself. :rotfl:

Now if I can stay out of the fridge when I get home - I will be doing good. I saved my afternoon snack for when I get home.

I know that red peppers are my new best friend! When I get the late night munchies, I slice up half of one of those and it seems to do the trick.

Yes I stayed out of the fridge. I was very busy when I got home. I did the cardio disc, made the vegetable soup, ironed, read a little while and fell asleep. Today I am a little tired, but staying on program. The soup is really good. I was back at the farmstand today to get brussel sprouts for dinner tomorrow night. I made the turkey burgers Sunday.

I just realized that you are the one who started the BL challenge. Thanks SOOO much for that. It is what prompted me to begin this whole journey. I am down to the high end of my goal weight, have developed healthy habits, but mostly I feel sooooo much better. You are the best!:cool1::dance3::cheer2::thumbsup2:woohoo::yay:party::jumping1::love1:

I have kinda, sorta followed that thread (it's a bit too big for me to keep up with). I have reported in and participated in a bunch of the Healthy Habits and WIN. So thanks again. It is really great of you to put in your time and effort to help a bunch of strangers. I know that many people have had success thanks to the program!

Anywho.... yesterday was great. I am back to the land of the living, didn't slide back as much as I thought I would. In fact, the workouts were easier than I remembered!:cool1: It really feels great to be back on track.

Tennis today and then hanging out with my DD. The seniors present their senior engagement projects today, so the rest of the HS is off. She is sooo psyched! She's sleeping in right now!

That's me, but I am not the original Hostess, there were a couple before me - Lisa and Rose. I will finish off the year doing the challenges, then hopefully pass it on to another. You should Head back over, the thread has slowed down a great deal since the Teams merged. We will be starting up a new Summer challenge in June.

Woo Hoo on the eating!
It was nice just to hang out with the kiddo. We watched Father of the Bride. I forgot what a cute movie that was!

Exercise and eating are going very well this week! It feels great to be back in the game! :cool1:

Workout 2 this am and then an all day track meet for DS. It is our home meet and they get to throw the javelin for the first time. He is pretty psyched!

DD is finally getting better. The PT seems to be doing her A LOT of good! Although she had to scratch the two meets this week, she is in good spirits thinking she may finally get to compete next week!

Today is going to be a great day!

Well, my last day for workout 2. I am feeling 100% back to normal. YAY!:cool1:

TOmorrow morning I may try cardio tennis. I've never done it before but it sounds really intense. I'm all for keeping the cardio interesting!

I had to cut back the exercise to one DVD a day. It was too much for me - plus I had wrenched my lower back last week - and it seemed to be getting worse - so I cut back.

I am glad you are enjoying the food. I really did too and found a few new "go to" snacks and meals!

Aww man! I am sorry about your back. I hope that it gets better quickly! I wouldn't worry too much about cutting the extra DVD. I is just the first week anyway. You'll be fine! :good vibes

Hi All!

Wow! Can't believe I haven't posted in a few days. Super busy week for some reason.

I didn't excercise yesterday. Ran errands all night and got in so late. I think I will try to double up today. And, I must get outside and start some weeding but I think it is cold out. Still, 1 hour will make a difference!

Minnie--good luck with cardio tennis. Sounds hard!

Buzz-thats great that you like the food. It makes the plan so much easier if you like what your eating.
