Starting February 4th Park Hopping will begin at 11am

This is great news about park hopping earlier! However, we would normally do that to eat lunch, and I don't want to get charged if I can't get to the other park for my reservation if they change the time for hopping on different days. Here is the fine print, which I hope is just CYA and not really what will happen:
the ability to visit the other park will be subject to that park’s capacity limitations, operational hours, closures and other restrictions, and is not guaranteed, and Park Hopper hours are subject to change without notice. Please check the Park Hopper calendar and the Disneyland app for the most up-to-day Park Hopper hours, as they could change, depending on the day and park.

This is good news. How about for WDW too? They also announced Photopass to be included in G+ for WDW and the return of free parking for resort guests, which is huge for those who bring a car. There's been some good news this afternoon - little stuff but all value-adding changes, which is a great thing.

The park hopping hours are going to be flexible? How is anyone supposed to plan their dining or Genie+ reservations?

It's only the attraction photos so not a full PhotoPass benefit. Still a nice gesture, though, that really costs them nothing since the photo is already taken automatically.
Of course it's not, it would reduce the benefits of purchasing Genie+. But it's nice all the same.

They always say stuff like this - I don't think it is likely to change excepting when a park is actually at capacity.

Yeah once they make the change to 11am, I highly doubt it will change on the fly. There would be way too much guest confusion. They just always have caveats like this... most of the time they are nonsense (though sometimes, like when it said Magic Keys or G+ was subject to availability, it was real!)

Absolute worst case, if it did happen where you can't make a dining reservation because of it, I would think:
1) if your dining was at, say, 12:30 but park hopping isn't until 1pm, you could go to the restaurant late and explain to figure it out
2) if you can't figure it out in park, you could email guest services and I'm sure they would refund your no-show fee, though that would be a pain.

Usually if it is a capacity issue, they use phased closures, and those with Dining Reservations are typically allowed in until the final phase where they can let no more people in at all.

Good to know. Although I still don't understand the logic of having restricted park hopping. It makes scheduling so much more complicated.

I just read that parking is going to be free for resort guests at Disney World. What does everyone think that the chances are of that happening at Disneyland??

Slim to none. Disneyland has from my recollection since at least DCA opened never not charged for parking at the hotels.

Eh, the park hopping at 1pm wasn't that big of a deal to us. Both parks have enough to do from 7:30am-1:00pm and if all else failed, we took a midday break after lunch. Good perk for those that didn't like it, though!

Great news! I was hoping they'd get rid of it, but 11:00 is still much better than 1:00. It will be easier to make lunch and brunch plans.

More of a, "Spend the morning in Park A, then hop to park B," feel, and not, "Rope drop at park A and try to find something to do before you're allowed into park B."

For Disneyland I have no problem being there from open-close, but if I start at DCA I will for sure want the option of hopping over to Disneyland as early as possible. Plus it's nice to have the restaurant options at both parks for lunch.
