Started WW yesterday!!!

Hi all -
I have been on the DIS boards for about a year but I never explored this one! So hi! :wave: I have been tortured about losing weight for the last couple years and I never do anything about it!!!! I tried WW about a year and a half ago and quit within 2 months, but this time I think I am in it for the long haul!!! :thumbsup2 The pounds have been creeping on over the years ( I think I figured out yesterday that I have gained 40 lbs since I got married 19 yrs ago!) Anyway.....part of me feels very motivated and enthusiastic about this and part of me feels, well...sad...like I am kissing my social life good bye! Isn't that pathetic?? I think going to the meetings really helps and since I signed up for the one month unlimited meetings I am going to try and go to more than one a week.

Anyone else out there just getting started like me??? I need inspiration!!! :goodvibes
 
:welcome:Welcome to Wish and congratulations for joining WW. It's a great program, and this board is awesome for support and inspiration. I'm not new to WW, but I was once. It's hard to change your social life, but hopefully you don't have to give it up, but just change your choices when you go out. There is a great weight loss sight www.dwlz.com that had many restaurants listed and the points values of their foods, so you can plan before you go out. I find the meetings very helpful as well, and I need that accountability of weighing in every week. Good luck to you.

I finished my fisrt week on WW - lost 3.6 lbs!!! Yay!:cheer2:
I was a little bummed that my friend lost 4.6 lbs, but I can't compare myself to her! I still thought 3.6 was pretty good! I am struggling a little more this week....feeling a bit deprived. But I am trying my best to stay on track! :thumbsup2
I will have to jump on the WW thread. Thanks again! :wave:
 

:welcome: I am not a newbie to WW, but wanted to welcome you to WISH and the WW "family". There are quiet a few folks on this board who follow WW so you are sure to find help and motivation. There are also a lot of other program followers that have great tips/ideas and are always willing to offer support as well.

Congratulations on your first week loss, that is great. And as hard as it can be some times you are right not to compare yourself to your friend. 3.6 is a fabulous loss, so enjoy.

And you don't have to kiss your social life goodbye, you just have to do a little advance planning and make little changes along. You can socialize as much or as little as you want. Weight Watchers is about making changes to fit your lifestyle because as I have learned over the years is that it isn't a diet it is a lifestyle. You can do this!!!
 
The great thing about WW is you can still enjoy real food in moderation. I still have pizza, eat out at least once a week. The one real change is that I have cut back on fast food A LOT! and I don't eat french fries and bagels as often as I did.

Give yourself a few weeks to get real comfortable with the plan and it will be second nature to you.

Hi! Congratulations!

I went to my first WW weigh-in yesterday. too. I have about 85 lbs to lose, so I'll be hanging around a while. I've done WW before, but I'm using the e-Tools this time, which seems much easier to me. This looks like a great support group here. Best of luck to you!!:goodvibes
