DH and I just started walking. We have walked three days in a row now. He is gone for the evening and we didn't get to walk today just because it was a crazy day.
I am about to go out with my kids walking...I don't want to skip a day.
We have walked in the neighborhood...up and down hills...the first day...about a mile....2nd day....1.6 miles....and the third day...we needed potatoes for dinner so we WALKED to the grocery store. I took the car later to measure the miles and we walked 3.5 miles on that day!! :cool1: :cool1:

SO off we go....:cheer2:

Congratulations! You are doing a great job and having family involved makes a great example you are setting.

Keep on keepin' on!

:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

Congrats. I'm a walker too. Recently converted to running, but I still love my walks!

Keep up the great work! :thumbsup2

OMG I think these walks are going to kill me!! We are doing our daily 1.6 miles but there are at least three hills in it! I can't wait for me to be able to do this without my heart POUNDING out of my chest or my lungs heaving for air!!!
When will it get easier??:sad2:

Good for you for getting out there and walking and how GREAT it is that the whole family is benefiting. Over time you will be able to walk further and further! Keep on trucking and you are on your way to a healthier you!!:cool1:

Don't give up. You can do this.

You've just started. You will notice it does get easier and then you will be challenging youself as you go. Take it easy when you do get to this point.

Just keep taking one foot and putting it in front of the other...it can be done!

:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

Thanks Tiger Lily....I will keep walking!!! My DH won't let me give up anyway!! He is right there beside me walking....breathing easy!!!

Well, I am still walking...haven't dropped yet!! :rotfl2:
We have actually added on another street so it's now a nice 2 mile walk!!

Good for you! I began walking a year ago and am up to 3-4 miles every single day. I walk in the morning for 45 minutes with my friend (time goes quick when you are chatting!) and then DH and I walk again for 20 minutes or so at night, and the kids come too. I had lost about 35 pounds before I started walking, and since then I have lost another 72.5. I attribute much of my success to the consistent exercise. Keep up the great work! (This summer is great, since I can do so much more now ~ I don't get tired from walking around theme parks and such!)

94 DEGREES while walking today!! There is just something wrong with that....but I survived!! One good thing about walking...once it's done for the day...I can relax!! :cool1:

YAY....the walk is finally getting easier!! I didn't get nearly as out of breathe as I normally do!!:cool1:
My body is starting to feel different...I feel toner...less....I don't know...bloated?? I have lost about 4 more pounds since I was at the drs. back in June so he would be happy about that!! :thumbsup2

Isn't it great how quickly you can feel healthier and stronger? :woohoo: I find that if I'm unable to walk (even a little) each day, I somehow feel cheated. I've tried many health clubs and exercise DVDs, and I always go back to walking. I just lace up my walking shoes, put my hair back and pop in my ear-buds and I'm ready to go.

Are you training for an event, or did you introduce walking for exercise purposes?

Good luck and keep enjoying your walks ;)

I am just walking for excercise and to help with weight loss with a lot of help from my DH.
DH was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes and he needed to start exercising so we both started. On the days I don't really want to go...he pushes me to or when I want to cut the walk shorter, he doesn't let me. If it were not for him, I would have stopped already. He has been my angel on one of my shoulders fighting the devil on my other! :rotfl2:

I go walking and take my seven year old with me...we will be in Disney in 43 days, I tell him we are in training.

Think about this, kids need to be in shape for the trip too! You can't expect a kid who is mostly watching cartoons to have the walking stamina needed for a seven day marathon at DisneyWorld. He rides his bike and I walk. ...

So if you have kids get them off that couch and get outside! :)

Dismom+two,

I really wished we lived closer to you. Then Felicia and I could walk with you. DH of mine thinks it is great when I go walking but doesn't take his skinny butt with us for support. Miss you Sis. Keep up the great work.

I love hearing of the progress.

You know, I often feel that the best part these days is when it is over. I've just had a rough time getting out still. Yesterday I did not really want to put in the time, but after I was finished it was that feeling that you now know. It's over, I did it, I'm glad I did and now I can do the other things that I want/must do.

Hey sis, I wish we lived closer too...I would love to have you and Felicia walking with us.

Its no 6:22 and just about to eat dinner and then out for our walk. I think I can make it....I think I can make....
