Hi,
I was hoping some recent visitors could tell me the start time for the Osbourne Lights? Just realized that they will still be up when we arrive and we've got only 1 chance to see them so I'd like to fit it in if possible before out dinner on January 8th.

Thanks,
Cathy K.

From the WDW website for 1/8/2006:

Special Events:

The Osborne Family Spectacle of Lights
6:00pm - 7:00pm
Millions of lights add their brilliance to the backlot cityscape.

We went to see the lights in 1998 and they gave us these 3-D like glasses that made the lights look like angles, do they still do this. We will be going on the first week of Jan and would like to know. I think I still have those from 98 around here somewhere. Thanks.

We were there on Dec. 8th and the lights were cancelled about 5 minutes before they were supposed to start because of rain. I never saw any glasses. We went back on the 9th and saw the lights, minus a few sections that didn't light up, again, because of rain, they announced. I still never saw any glasses. Sounds really cool though!

Saw the lights on Dec 12 and no glasses. I also heard they are in a different location than they were in the past, so maybe the glasses wouldn't help any.

And the lights turned on at 6:00 sharp our night. We missed the start by about 45 seconds because the crowd that was gathering kept us hidden around the corner.

They don't give out the 3-D glasses anymore. I had some with me from a previous year, and with the lights the way they are now, the glasses don't have nearly the same effect as they did when the lights were on the neighborhood houses along the back lot tour. Yes, you can see angels when you look at street lights, that hasn't changed, it just seems that you really don't need them any more.

We were at the lights twice on our last trip, the first was on Saturday (10th)and we went to see the lights turn on, sometime around 6, and it was very very crowded and it stayed crowded. We went on Tuesday ( 13th) after Fantasmic and it wasn't crowded at all. It sort of filled up after awhile, but we were there from around 7:45 until 8:10 or so.

We were there on 12/14/05 (i think, i'm too tired from the trip) and they turned on EXACTLY at 6:00pm ET. It starts with a dramatic intro and then they turn on about 3 minutes later. Watching them turn on all at once is AWESOME.

Thanks everyone for the info. I cancelled the ADR I had for Liberty Tree Tavern at 6:30 so that we could go to MGM and see the lights instead.

When we went the park closed at 8, but the lights stayed on much later. We had dinner at Mama Melrose, and then went to the lights. We didn't have any crowds - it was great!

Yes once the park closes, you either have to leave or see the lights
