Start of Schools in August??

Just thought you might like to know what the schedule is for the Central Fl counties close to Disney. Orange County schools end on May 23 and resume on August 12,2002. Seminole County schools end on May 23 and resume on August 8, 2002. Osceola County schools end on May 22 and resume on August 8, 2002. That pretty much covers every county that is "touching" Disney.

This year our school will get out at May's end. However In Texas, during the last legislative session, a school bill was passed preventing school districts from starting before August 21st in the 2002-03 year. This will probably cause schools to shorten breaks and possibably to run over into early June. Parents aren't too happy about this.

The Shelby County, TN (Memphis area), schools start back on August 12. The last day for next year is May 22 unless there are make-up days. Spring break will be March 10-14.
