OK, so the last time we were at DLR, I took advantage of the little coffee shops policy of free refills all day and kept my cup and definitely got my money's worth. I know that Starbucks recently moved into that space about what, 3 years ago, and now they have yummy strong coffee in the parks (Yaay!). Does the Starbucks inside the park still offer the free refills all day? Or are they being typical strict Starbucks?
I have a Gold card with them, so I would get $0.55 refills, which is not a big deal. But I dont want to save my cup if they dont do that inside DLR.

The ones in the parks don't do any refills at all. The one in DTD is company owned and operated. In theory they should honor the company refill policy with a receipt during the same visit, which means without leaving the store. I've never tried it because I don't usually hang around to finish my drink in the store.

Hmmmm. Maybe I will just buy a Disney Starbucks mug on the first day and see what I can't do with my Gold card. Probably nothing, but it's worth a shot, I guess.

It was not a Starbucks policy the OP is referring to. Before Market House turned into a Starbucks, they would offer free refills throughout the day. All that stopped when it became a Starbucks.

You will not get free refills any longer in the parks.
BTW - Looks like we will be there the same time ~

I was responding to the part about the 55 cent refill, which is the Starbucks refill policy at their company stores.

I think you save 10 cents on your drink. At least, that's the reusable mug policy at the 2 other local stores where I've done it. Depending on how much coffee you drink, I don't really find it that worth it to carry around a mug in the parks. I'll just pay the extra $2.25 - $2.50, toss my disposable cup and get a second drink later if I want one.

I'm going to carry a small cross-body bag, so carrying a cup around is probably not going to be a huge deal. Who knows, hubby might say W'hy bother" lol

The in-park locations are not company stores, so they may not necessarily honor the discounts. I know that you can use Starbucks Gift Cards to pay for your purchases and you can earn stars, but you cannot redeem Rewards at the in-park locations. It's always worth asking, but know that there is a chance that they won't sell the discounted refills.

Interesting. Well, I only have two days in the parks, so I suppose if they dont honor the Gold Card refills, then I think I will survive! :)

A friend of ours tried to get a refill in her own Starbucks mug at the Market House in DL. She was told that CMs cannot refill a guest's personal mug, but that they have to give her a paper cup. They couldn't even take her mug behind the counter. She was upset about the paper waste, but the CMs told her that due to liability issues, they have to give out new paper cups with each drink. This was a while ago, so I don't know if the policy is still the same. Haven't tried this at the Starbucks in DtD, so I don't know if their policy on this would be different. Just don't want the OP to have to carry a mug around for 2 days if it won't make any difference.

They have the same policy with other souvenir mugs in the park. They won't dispense a drink into a used mug, even if you pay full price. They will only sell another paper cup that you can empty into your mug. In either LA County or OC, maybe both there was a health code in place about refills and the rim of the glass introducing bacteria or illness into food prep areas. It may still be in place. I know in SD I got a refill on my iced tea at Starbucks and they took my cup, told me to hold the lid and refilled it. In LA I would have been handed a new plastic cup.

Not to derail the thread, but I thought that refills were supposed to be free with the gold card??? (I don't ever drink "regular" coffee so I've not had a chance to try this perk)

It shows up on the register as 55 cents and then when you scan your registered card (green level works too) it doesn't actually charge you.

I may not have all my facts straight, but this is what I thought I knew about the in-parks Starbucks. Doesn't matter what level of Starbucks membership you are, there are no special perks like free or discount refills, redemption of birthday or star awards, or use of discount coupons or offers from Starbucks. You can use your Disneyland AP to receive discounts. You can use your Starbucks gift cards or app to pay. You do earn stars on in-parks Starbucks purchases.

Interesting thread. Thanks for replying everyone. Guess I will find out what happens when I get there. Sounds like I wont get any refills though. Bummer. I'll just have to pay $2-something everytime I want a coffee. *shrugs* Oh well.

I believe you are 100% correct here!

I came on this thread to verify I could use my Starbuck's Gold Card in the parks. Yeah! I will make sure to have a healthy balance on it!

Yup, I will have to make sure to throw more on mine, cuz it normally replenishes on the 1st, but we will be in the parks on the 29th and 30th. :)
